The PETKIT Element has a food grade silicone sealing ring on both the food outlet door and on the top of the lid inside the machine. During downtime, the feeder features a sealed food storage bucket to ensure freshness. A desiccant box inside the feeder can absorb moisture, and allows the food to stay fresh for up to 30 days. A food-grade silicone impeller and spring check-board work together to adjust the output diameter. The silicone impeller transforms under pressure to prevent any blockage, allowing the feeder to feed as planned. An oscillating bar solves accumulation issues by mixing the food and evening the portion out. A weight sensor inside the feeder notifies you when not enough food is present. A series of sensors check to make sure the food will dispense properly and also holds open the door if an external force is present to prevent injury. There is a manual feed function that can be locked to prevent accidental food releases when you are not home. An emergency power supply system allows the feeder to continue working even during power outages by using 4 D-cell alkaline batteries.
