This is a safest litter for your ferrets., 5/18/2017

Paula from Litchfield Pak, AZ.

This litter is safe because it is made from paper. It contains no dust, like some others do, that could cause lung problems for your ferret. This litter was recommended by my Vet, but I was already using it.

Great choice for cleanliness and odor control, 3/7/2017

Korinna from

I used cat litter with my ferrets for 9 years. It works perfectly fine, but scented cat litters can leave an odd smell in the room, and even unscented ones get dusty and aren't really suitable for older or sick ferrets who tend to be messier and less coordinated. I decided to try out this litter since it was designed with ferrets in mind. My room smells a whole lot better (freshly-poured, this litter smells like books or newspapers). It's not dusty, so no coughing or getting irritated lungs anymore, and it doesn't stick to ferret's noses or behinds. I totally recommend it to anyone thinking of trying out a new litter.

In order to keep the large playroom that our ferrets have access to clean and sanitary, we have alot of litter boxes out. This product allows us to ensure that we have enough litter to keep the room clean and neat.

Excellent Product, 11/19/2015

GrammyKS from Middleton, ID

I've been using this litter for my ferret for a couple of years. There is no dust, which is important with ferrets, and this product keeps the smell down compared to other litters I've used. My ferret does not tend to "play" in this litter like she has in other litters. She just does her business and leaves.

Marshall Ferret Litter, 11/16/2015

Vonnie from Albuquerque, NM, USA

There's no other litter out there as good as Marshall Ferret Litter. Works Great for my 3 Ferrets! It's Dust and Pine Free. Therefore, NO harmful additives or odors that will harm my babies/ferrets. It's just simple news paper rolled up nice and tight. Once wet and dirtied, just SCOOP UP all the litter in that 1 spot (Swollen Pieces) discard and refill area again. :) Perfect! Thanks Yvonne the Ferrant of 3 Ferrets

I have this automatically reordered, and it's a big help with our busy schedules. We have three ferrets with a large cage and large corner bins, and this is more than enough. It's got an amazing price tag, but the shipping bumps it up to other stores' prices. But I have found no other website that reorders this product for me. I love it.

Ferret took to the litter immediately. Played in it at first and slept on top of the litter in the box the first few days. Better than the cat litter. The cat litter is messy. This is easy to dispose from the litter box and the cage pan.

No clumping and great against odor, 1/8/2015

deeR0w from

I'm very happy with it thus far. One of the pain points with going the "paper" route with kitty litter is that it doesn't do much to contain the urine stench. This is not my furry buddy's fault since I'm not providing her with a proper toilet as we humans are so privileged to have, but this particular flavor of paper litter seems to be the best one I've tried thus far. At first all she would do is walk in it and smell it. I'm assuming she picked up on the fact that it's not the one she's been using for the past 6 3/4 years she's lived. However, she seems to also use it more consistently than the last brand. So it has me thinking if her "accidents" were simply because she couldn't stand the odor herself??? Either way, I'm a happy customer.

The bigger the bag, the more you save, 7/6/2014

StephanieDawn from Milwaukee, WI, USA

Having four ferrets, I need something that can absorb the odors easily and isn't too expensive. Marshall's ferret litter is extremely easy to scoop, absorbs ALOT of the bodily fluids, and comes in a 50lb bag which saves you money. I have yet to find another website that offers a better price on both the litter and shipping costs.

Doesn't do much..., 12/7/2013

Jack from

Absorbs urine, but then it just stinks. May as well use news paper, at least you'd be able to pull out the soaked bits, this stuff just gets darker, doesn't clump, and has no odor reduction. Fecal material does it's normal thing, but that's not saying much. Spend an extra few bucks for something better.

better than any other for ferrets, 12/6/2013

cjs92673 from Xenia, IL 62899, USA

due to ferrets sinuses it is best to go with something that wont irritate thererespiratory system and make them sick. Tested everything from a to z and this is the bestfor allerigic reactions. clay is the worst to use due to thge silt from there settling will give them respiratory distress.

Good Product, 7/1/2013

LaurAnn815 from Chatham, NJ, USA

My girl has no issues using this stuff. It's also very absorbent and keeps the odor down. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there seems to be "dust" when I pour it in, and since ferrets are supposed to have sensitive respiratory systems, I'm not sure this is great. HOwever, Marshall is an excellent brand, and she hasn't shown any issue AT ALL using the litter.

Just ok!, 1/2/2013

venusdmo from Philadelphia, PA

708437ted using this when I only had 1 fuzzy and it was good. When I got fuzz #2 I realized that it didn't perform as well but I continued to use it because I was used to it. Since I got a 3rd fuzzy this litter does not keep up with the demand of odor control at all. It's great for low dust since I have allergies but the odor is horrific within less than 48 hours after changing all the litter and scrubbing each litter box I was forced to change to Cozy N Fresh which has worked perfectly. It comes in bigger bags, its cheaper and also dust free. I'm not biased, I just use what works for me.

Rabid Granny 61 from Alabama

My two fuzzies(which I purchased on Craigslist) were using this when I got them. It is VERY expensive at other pet stores so I switched to regular cheap cat litter and that works just as well and is easier to scoop their droppings than the Ferret Litter.... This doesn't seem to help with odor control and I used a LOT of this! The one and only plus was that it had very little dust(but the cat litter I use doesn't either). I DO have to say PetSupplies.com has GREAT prices on it!

This litter kills odor better than any we tried, soaks the urine, flushes, and it's marshals!! Unfortunately it is costly and doesn't come in a BIGGER bag or BULK sale!!! Most ferret owners get multiple ferrets and let's face it the need litter changed FREQUENTLY!!! Plz bulk ur great product.

Great litter for all pets who use litter boxes, 11/28/2011

animalover from Harker Heights, TX

We use this litter with our fuzzy and our kittie. Both love it, and we have tried other (cheaper types of pellet litter) without success. But...I dont recommend flushing it down the toilet. We had to pay a plumber $200 to snake our main line to unclog the "green paper jam".

Awesome and Flushable, 7/11/2011

LuciferDEW from International Falls, MN

This litter is not only amazing but it is also flushable which makes it so much easier and saves on trash instead of throwing it in a bag I can flush it down. Not to meantion that it holds off the odors. I have 2 ferrets and i go through a 50 pound bag in about three weeks. You get your moneys worth out of this litter so convientant and easier just take the litter pan to the bathroom and flush the litter down. :) :)

Recycled paper is the only type of litter you are supposed to use with ferrets. Any other litter will create respiratory problems. This one works well.

Best ferret litter ever, 5/10/2010

Cristina from NJ

This is by far the best ferret litter I have tried. I have 6 ferrets and it's really good at absorbing odors and holding in urine. Like I said I have 6 ferrets and people coming over for the first time tell me that it doesn't smell like I have 6 ferrets. In fact they tell me they hardly smell anything at all!!

Good with strong smell, 6/22/2009

Anthony from Ny

Litter has funny smells in it. A lot of dust particles fly into the air when pouring into a bucket. I have found large pieces of wood in it. I have bought the smaller bags and figured it would be the same as the 50 pound bag, but I found them to be different- not only that the toy is missing in the 50 pound bag, but differences in quality. If you plan on storing it, keep it in the box it was delivered with otherwise you will have a funny smell in wherever you store it in. I wonder what they use in the litter to give it that smell... Litter is good overall, but it does break up once it gets wet.

The best litter!, 5/19/2009

Stephanie from Tri Cities, TN

I have 3 ferrets now and this litter works great. They have four litter boxes in their large cage, and I never smell a thing. I don't think the litter has a bad or weird smell either. I've tried a few different brands of ferret litter but nothing compared to this Marshall litter for odor control and absorption. My ferrets seem to like this litter and don't have a problem stepping on it or anything.

ferret litter, 5/19/2009

Nancy from muskego, WI

My two boys don't care for this litter. They are vary fussy so I am sticking to yesterdays news found at my local grocery store. They prefer the recycled newspaper than anything else. We got them from a rescue shelter and that is what they used there so we will stay with what works best for them. As for smell I always put some arm and hammer for pets in the bottom of my litter boxes and that helps with the smell.

Marshall Ferret Litter, 4/29/2009

This is absolutely the best ferret litter on the market. It's easy to dispense, clean up, and absorbs moisture and odors better than any other litter brands -- and I've tried them all. This is the litter you want to use for your ferret family -- so safe and effective.

Great value, 4/1/2009

Erin from Whitehall, PA

The box is really heavy, but if you have someplace to store it, it's worth getting the big bag. :) The only qualm I have with this litter is that one of my three ferrets digs in it from time to time, and seems to inhale the little particles it.. he gets all wheezy and sad. But it doesn't seem to hurt him.

BEST LITTER EVER!!, 2/7/2009

Lindsey and Nate from Harrisburg, PA

We own 2 ferrets and learned a lot about them online. Regular clay cat litter is not good for them because of respitory infections, so we switched. This is the best litter for them! Biodegradable, and incredibly absorbant. The smell does take some getting used to, but it is well worth it.

This litter Does cut own the smell of the ferret odors BUT the litter itself has a strong oder that is not the most pleasant. Our boys also liked playing in the litter. Super absorbant but as soon as the litter gets wet it falls apart making it sort of hard to scoop.

This good litter but my ferret doesnt seem to like it really. He rather sleep on it & dig in it than use it in his litter box... But it is a great product only if he would think so. It might be the texture of it that he doesnt like on his feet or something...

Marshalls litter.., 6/18/2007

Robin from Dyersburg, TN

I didnt like this litter because it doesnt clump at all. You have to throw away the entire pan of litter instead of scooping the poop out. It says dust free...not true! When I pour it in the pan dust flys everywhere. The absorbancy is okay..if you can handle throwing away tons of litter and the dust. And one of my ferrets rarely used the litter pan when I used this litter.
