Cheap people never com plane enough do they?! :), 4/4/2013
MS314 from W. Springfirld, MA

People with 1 or 2 SMALL ferrets love it but the cheapo s trying to squeeze theirs that are the size of "cats" find this unacceptable. Open your wallet and not your mouth next time please, PERFECT for the "1" my daughter has if we get another I would look for an upgrade in size , not style. Thanks for the reasonable reviews they helped.

My 1 dude loves it, he is often visited by his 2 "cousins" and they all snuggle up together so cozy when I add another hammock. It has 3 openings for easy cleaning. Louie recommends highly !

Okay cage., 9/7/2012
NICOLE PALMER from moosup,ct

I have had this cage for about 8 months now and I have two ferrets who live in it. The cage itself looks nice and was very easy to set up. The shelves, ramps, and accessories are cheap though. Getting the landings in and out to clean is a pain. The bottom is hard to clean with out taking the metal wire part off. My ferrets like it but we found another of these free and attached both together and that has made playing much better for them. For the price it is a good starter cage.

Looks better than it really is..., 8/2/2012
Heather from Payson,Az

While this cage does seem large at first and was a definite upgrade for my two ferrets, it has a few downsides. When my 3lb male ferret stands on the shelves, they start to sag quite a bit. The ramp won't stay on very well and the plastic is warping. They really don't have any room to play, they have one litter box on the bottom level and it pretty much takes up all of the room. While it was fairly easy to put together, taking it down to clean it or even leaving it together and trying to clean is a huge hassle. The doors aren't even big enough to fit their litter box through (it's 14in x 14in) so if it needs to be washed I have to take the whole cage apart. On top of all that, the slide on mine has one insert that is deformed and therefore, the whole thing can't be used. With that being said, the price here is much better than at Petsmart, it's 40 or 50 dollars cheaper.

had mine 5 years, 2/28/2012
Ash from The lake

I have had this cage 5 years, it came with my rescue ferret, my one fits in it but I rearranged it to wear it was safer to prevent falls put one shelf at the bottom and then I took and put the other 2 side by side and I put a bed and hammock on the top level I made and the bottom has litter(he was never litter trained by the previous owner and I've tried but he just goes where he pleases as he is around 6-7 years old now and I've had him 5 years) there is a bar that broke off my ferret cant fit through thankfully and the corners had to be zip tied because he tried escaping out the seams and corners and got his leg caught (a scare I never want to go through again he limped for a few days) I plan on getting the ferret nation double real soon but for the price I give 5 stars because it did a good job but the last 2 years seem to be taking it's toll and the levels sag now, I have one ferret and plan on getting more this will house one nicely 2 would be a tight fit, the price can't be beat on here :)y

I currently have this cage, and i am not too happy with this and its too small and crowded for my ferrets. The green plastic tunnels break apart way to easily. and this cage is so hard to clean. i only recommend this cage for temporary means. i recommend on getting a ferret nation cage :)

Wonderful!, 1/12/2012
beka125 from Atlanta, GA

This is an excellent cage! I bought it for my 2 ferrets, and they have enjoyed it for many years. I don't bother using the ramps or slides, they are unneccesary bc mine just crawled and jumped to what level they want. Plenty of room for a couple hammocks, food/water bowls, and basin at the bottom for litter box. It has a convenient roller base that is helpful when needing to clean around the cage, or slide ferrets outside to get fresh air. The price, is great for the quality. Big enough to house 2 ferrets, great!

A Decent Cage, 12/23/2011
mwhidden92 from Kalispell, Mt

This cage is definately spacious and my two boys love running around and hopping along the bottom. The only complaint I have about it is that the purple supporting shelves are a bit weak. When two ferrets stand on them you can noticabely see them bend. So to sum it up, it's a spacious enviroment my guys love to play together in, but be weary of the shelves. You might need replacements in the future!

NOT impressed, 11/29/2011
Paige Moore from Erlanger, KY

although Lily (my ferret) may love this cage i do NOT. the middle 'removable' DOOR (??)the bars are big enough to squeeze through. i had to put mesh over the section. the latter/bridge she cannot climb at all and the slide has a tendonsy to collaps as she climbs it. i took out all the green attachments and replaced the silly slide with the marshall ferret bandit bridge and it works very well. as a bed too! the cage is worth about 50 dollars if you can find it for cheeper i reccomend it. over all its something i can live with but i am searching for another cage as we speek.

Overall decent cage, 10/30/2011
NCKate from Greenville, NC

This cage was great at first...it was the first one we had for our two fuzzies, Simon & Garfunkel. The bottom plastic bin is deep enough that you can put bedding in it and they can't really dig it out, making a mess around the floor. The circular slide that comes with it is very flimsy and ended up breaking off a few times, so we completely got rid of it. If it is not resting on the shelf below, it bends and breaks. For some reason, not all of the wires on the outside of the cage are the same diameter, so it can actually be difficult to snap the shelves on and off. The two doors in the front of the cage also limit your options when trying to set up the cage in new ways to keep the ferrets entertained. Other than that, easy to clean plastic shelves that snap in and out, if you take all of the shelves out, and the rest of the cage folds up nicely if you have to move it.

LOVE THIS CAGE!, 10/10/2011
Andrea from webster, MA

When i first got my two fuzzkids i got this cage and HATED IT! why? im not sure i just really didnt like it but i got more ferrets off of craigslist which also came with the same cage. eventually we had 3 misc cages and 8 ferrets in my room, not because they didnt get along but because i couldent get a cage big enough for them all. so we got crafty. we took two of these cages and took the bottom pans off, tore off one right and one left wall and attached them together and now we have a HUGE cage with 6 shelves and so much floor space for them to play, we also have 5 hammocks and a cat bed in it plus two large sized litter boxes, 4 water bottles and a feeder trough and 2 food crocks. and the little tube that connects to the shelf? we took it and attached it to a long straight one and another corner one and attached that other corner one to another hole in the shelf and they have their play tubes IN their cage! i love it and so do they. the only thing i could think to say bad is one of the shelves that their food is on if starting to sag... but its not affecting anything at all. i recommend this to any ferret owner!

Not as happy as I thought....., 6/11/2011
Chalyn from OKC, OK

I previously had an extra large cage and added on the wiring from a large cage to the top to make a multi level cage for my 2 babies. I saw this cage and fell in love. It was even on sale for 80 bucks. Brought it home, assembly was EASY. However, I am not happy I invested in this cage at all. I don't use the slide because it kept snapping off, the bottom level was used as a toilet, which isn't the cages fault, but the litter box wasn't being used. There is absolutely no room for playing. I have a feeder, litter box and 2 water bottles at the bottom and I feel bad for them because all they can do is sleep and climb up the side of the cage.....they wouldn't use the tube, slide and rarely the ramp because it keeps snapping off. Many many times I have fixed it but keeps coming apart. It's a pain to clean, you have to take the whole top part of the cage off to clean it. I have 2 hammocks and 2 sleeper sacks in there and that is about it. No room for any other fun. NOT happy at all. I'm going to convert back to my "rigged" cage....

Meh--, 6/8/2011
Ferret Rater from USA

I have had this cage for too long, I got it when I first got my ferret and thought "this is a decent cage, and who could beat the price!" but really, now that I have settled into it, it is just a pain. The little doors are inconvenient, especially when you want to move around their shelves or toys, it will take up a decent amount of time to get that done, even cleaning is a nightmare, having to take off the whole cage just to clean their litter, really? Was it really that difficult to make it at least a slide out tray? I also don't care for all of the plastic, it is not very sturdy and I am always afraid the clips are going to break. It has never seemed sturdy to me... Anyway, What you should do is just save up a little more money and buy a Ferret Nation, they are a dream come true!

One Of The Most Awful Cages!, 4/21/2011
Fearless from Colorado

I have had two DIFFERENT cages of this model... both have had warped shelves, broken slides, and overall poor quality in just a few months. The slide breaks, it's just not made to support the weight of a grown ferret. I highly suggest investing in extra shelves as my ferret has fallen from this cage several times. I have to set my shelves up so that it's a whole level, the tabs on the shelves had to be cut off to do this. So not worth the money, but it is cheap, you get what you pay for.

It was good for the price...., 4/5/2011
Breezer from Brick, NJ

When I bought my little girl I picked up this cage. When she got a little older and gained more weight (not fat) she would love going down the slide, but it broke off.. I think this cage is hard to clean beacuse you have to take the whole top cage off to dump the bottom. Also it scares me becuase I recently bought a baby boy home and he is a frisky one and falls off the top level, the levels are a little skinny for my likings. But you can beat it for a hundred bucks.. it was worth the money.

Very good beginners cage, 3/24/2011
Kayla from Newfoundland, Canada

My ferret seems to enjoy her new house but she is still afraid to get in her hammock! I regret buying it at a pet store because I paid 199.99 plus tax for it. I could have got the large ferret nation for that. But the elbow, tunnel and ladder are all holding up, she uses them all. I also love how it has 3 doors! One on the top and 2 on the front. Great first home.

You are actually able to squeeze to platforms side by side which makes it to where to floor is complete. I did this right abouve the second door flap. Created two large leather hammocks from a couch to get up to the second floor as well as sleep in. Bottom floor for the poopin. Also bought another cage and connected the two. Amazing cages, I love em

Better in person, 1/27/2011
Katt from

I got this cage with a couple rescues and I am recommending it to new adoptors wanting a nice cage for the money. Slide and tunnel are not used by my ferrets but I love the access doors. Easy to wheel around and clean under. Fill the whole bottom tray with litter and it is easier to clean with less messes. One problem I do note that without extra hammocks my fuzzies fall from top to bottom. Easy fix by putting a large hammock halfway down. Hard to see in the photo but there are two doors on front and one large access door on top. Lock tight so long as you latch under bar above door closure/clasp. The idea of a giant litter box on the bottom may scare you but it is super easy to clean that way. Ditch the tunnel to the bottom and switch up the shelves. And for real easy clean up, unlatch cage from base and lift off. Base is not attached to wheels but they sit in a grove to prevent movement. Very nice cage for this amount. Easily holds 4 to 5 average to small marshal size ferrets if you have enough hammocks. I have two on top and one large near the bottom at the bottom door opening. That one catches them when they fall.

usable but cheap quality, 1/19/2011

I bought 2 ferrets and this cage at our local p---O. My Fuzzies were just a couple of months old then. The spiral never could hold either Fuzzy. After a couple of months, we ordered another one of these cages and put them together! Wow what a difference!!! My Fuzzies suddenly had room to play on one side and the litter tray on the other. I use 4 of the shelves and both ramps and elbows. I threw out the spirals! When I move out of my small apt. I will invest in or make a better permanet cage.

The spiral slide and flat ramp are a bit flimsy but I've had this cage about 2 years now, moved cross country twice and everything is still in perfect shape. Harley doesn't use the bottom piece ever and only goes down the spiral slide not up. HE just climbs the cage like a monkey usually. but he has no problem with the top ramp or going down the spiral slide. Overall great product. great size and the rolly wheels with locks on the bottom come in handy

The cage is a good size but my ferrets easily escape from it and Cleaning it takes FOREVER and usually involves many unpleasant comments towards the cage. The twisty slide broke easily within 2 weeks of my baby ferret using it. I always see this cage for sale or free on Craigslist. I would pay the extra money and get a better cage, this one although it looks nice and "fun" is poorly made and horrible to clean

starter cage, 8/15/2010
Paul Allen from Toledo OH

First and Foremost, this site is FANTASTIC, that being said I did not purchase this cage here but at a local pet store the same time we got our first ferret. This cage is ok for someone just starting out as a ferret owner, it is affordable considering the size it is. We have 2 ferrets in ours and although the space could be bigger (especially at the bottom as it is being overrun by the litter box)it serves it purpose well, and that is for the little guys to have a place to eat, drink, poop and sleep. Our little fuzballs are out several times a day and play at will. The only quality control issue i have with this cage is the platforms (shelves) could stand to be more sturdier (thicker plastic would have been ideal) they tend to "bow" or "sag" just a little under the weight of both but not as to hamper their ability to walk on it. Also the holes that attach all the extra pieces could have been much bigger, people that have bigger than average size ferrets will find their loved ones climbing the sides of the cage in order to reach the top. So...in short, if you are looking for an inexpensive large enough size for 2 ferrets then this is a good choice as it will serve the little fuzballs well!

bought this cage because it was the better one of two in the store....this is definitely not a ferret friendly cage... however would probably work great for rats. if you need a cage for ferrets take your time, save your money, and invest in a better cage, even if you have to order online and wait for it to be shipped.

Cheap cage, 8/3/2010
Mike from Lexington Park, MD

This is by far the cheapest quality cage i have ever owned. All the platforms sag, we were never able to use the supplied ramps and the round slide would have a hard time holding itself up let alone a ferret. The platforms are so small only one ferret at a time can turn around. I would highly reccomend spending a little more money on a Marshall or Ferret Nation cage your ferrets and you will be alot happier.

hard to clean, 6/28/2010
Kelly from California

Like others have said this cage is a pain to clean. They had a habit of pooping on every level but the one they ate on, and it was frustrating to reach with short arms (don't expect your kids arms to reach either), so I eventually removed every piece but one shelf and a ramp so my two can get to their food and hammock. After a few months the shelf bowed in the middle and the bottom corners of the pan are cracking.

It's okay, but I'm already upgrading., 2/6/2010
Becky Whiteley from Dayton, NV

It's a decent cage. I had to buy this as it was the nicest one in the pet store and I had already fallen in love with a ferret. I could not wait to order the ferret nation cage online. I've been using this since Oct and then added a 2nd fuzzbutt to my family in January... now I really need the nicer cage. This one is hard to clean since the door is too small to fit a litter box through, unless you use the tiny corner ones that your ferret poops over the sides on. The shelves are narrow which does not leave a lot of play space. The bottom floor is taken up by the litter box, again, not much play space. The slide is cute but once my older ferret started growing and "wintering well" his butt got stuck in the tight angle it takes to squeeze through the opening. The top ramp falls down a lot as it's not up to rowdy ferret standards and is a bit slippery. It's hard to hang multiple hammocks and toys from this tall and narrow cage. The online price is worth it, the price I paid in a pet store is so not worth it. I have now ordered the ferret nation cage online for just a little more than I paid for this cage.

Good starter cage, but..., 1/16/2010
Sharlene S. from Tucson, Arizona

Its nearly impossible to get the shelves back out to clean them. You have to tilt them to such a strong degree that the mess you were trying to clean is now all over the floor and you. We've had ours for 3 weeks and we've already spent $300 to just get another cage altogether. We're donating this cage to a ferret rescue.

Kelsey from Louisville, KY

I bought this cage for my two ferrets. Within a week the ramps were bowed down and so were the platforms. I do not have big ferrets at all so there is no reason the cage should bow under their weight. Also, My male ferret found a way to break through the bars and squeeze out. I have contacted the company and nothing has been done about my defective cage. I do not recommend this cage for more than one ferret.

Good starter cage, 11/13/2009
Sarah from Kentucky

It was a really good starter cage for my two ferrets. After while, the ladder and the twirly slide became loose. I got my third (obese) ferret recently and he has a hard time climbing everywhere (poor thing!). It's kind of a pain to clean. I'd recommend this for a start cage for two ferrets, but no more.

So i got 2 ferrets today !! :) and this is the cage i wanted and i got this ... it was kinda hard to put together took me and my step mom an hour to get it done all the way but my 2 new ferrets love it ... the cage bars bends pretty easy and the slide is pretty thin and bouncey but it's a good cage over all but a few improvements could be made .... :)

Great 1st Cage, 7/27/2009
Pioneer Mom from Batesville, AR

This cage is great as a starter cage only!!! I now have three fuzzys and there is barely enough room for them. The slide pops off all the time and the tunnel won't stay on the bottom shelf. It's not very user friendly for cleaning at all. The entire top has to come off and then the cage part is hard to get back into place on the bottom after cleaning.

Good Cage!, 7/25/2009
Kyley from Tulsa, OK

This cage is semi-easy to put together, i mean the cage itself is easy but the platforms, ramp, slide, and tube are kinda hard to put in. Once i got the cage itself put up i started attaching the tube, slide, and ramp to the platforms. The tube and the ramp were pretty easy to put together and attach but the slide was soooo hard! I kinda broke the slide just putting it together (but it still works), and then trying to attach it to the platform was just as hard! But once i got the platforms in, I put my ferret in the cage and she loved it!!!!!!!! She went up and down and up and down!!!But my little fuzzy learned how to take the ramp down so i just finally took it out of the cage. Other then the ramp and setting it up, this is a pretty good cage. It is really spacious and could easily have two ferrets living in it!

Thing is already falling apart... NOT a good buy., 7/1/2009
Marca from Austin, Tx

We've only had our two new fert-babies about 6 weeks (not our first ferts, just new), and this cage is already a wreck. OK, I admit we named the new boy Tank for a reason, but the shelves should NOT be bending in the middle under his weight! He's only a kit, for crying out loud, not even four months old yet! The wires that hold the door catches closed are bending out of shape already, and that twirly slide thing? Looks like a lot of fun, but all they did with it was spend three days detaching it from the shelf! We finally had to just take it and the tunnel out altogether. I don't think my precious baby kits are any more fiendish than your average weasel, but this cage just isn't holding up to them well. We're already in the market for a new one after only 6 weeks!

PAIN IN THE ASS, 6/30/2009
Alexandra from Patchogue, NY

It shipped quickly, I ordered it in the morning and it got delivered the next day during the evening and I used ground postal. When I was setting up the stand I realized they sent 3 correct wheels for the bottom but 1 incorrect wheel. I need to call them and ask them to ship the correct wheel over. Then after the wire was up, we had put in the dividers up. They are loose and woobly. The green twisty piece looks extremely unsafe. The whole set up was time consuming and very stressful, a pain in the ass. I dont think I'll buy this cage again. I dont have my ferret yet so I dont know how he'll react in it. Hopefully my efforts and money wont be wasted. The cage if fairly larger than I expected so that was a plus.

The size is great, the price was also nice. The issues I have is my ferret not being able to use the multi-levels....the ramp and tunnel are *ok* but the slide doesnt attach anywhere so it swings freely and doesnt support her weight. So far she has only been on the bottom lol. More levels would be nice or if they sold extra ramps?

Super Pet First Home , 4/29/2009
Deborah G from Wynnewood, PA

I would not recommend this cage. I had to keep a pillow at the bottom to keep the little ones from falling from the top level if they misstepped. I neither recommend or would ever consider another partial floor layout cage for ferrets after using this one. Go for full floor level cages for your fuzzies' comfort.

My rats love it!, 4/16/2009
The Rat Lady from IA

A huge cage that's good for adult rats too! Rats love climbing, so the height of it is great for them. I keep three rats in one of these, and I'm sure I could keep five without it being too crowded. Younger rats fit through the bars though, so a different cage until they are big enough is a definate must-have.

Cheaply Made, 2/25/2009
Adria Sours-Hambrick from Shelbyville, TN

Bought this when I only had one ferret. The wire snapped and broke when I put one of the platforms in. The slide broke when I put into the hole on platform so it's rigged in there now. I'm irritated with how cheaply made this is. I have 2 ferrets now and it seems to be an ok size for both of them but I couldn't imagine having more than 2 ferrets in it. The edges of the cage don't stay shut like they're supposed to so I had to use pliers and close the hooks.

Broken, but still going, 2/5/2009
Courtney from Kansas

The one of the snaps on the slide and one of the snaps on one of the levels was broken when I got this a year ago. I was pretty angry. The slide was a goner because it could not hold up to the ferrets weight, and broke off a few months after setting it up. The platform is ok, i just had to rig it so that it would not collapse. If it was not damaged when i got it, I would have been much more satisfied. It is a good deal for the size of it. I really should have sent it back and got one that was not broken. Overall I would recommend it. It is nice and colorful and was pretty easy to assemble.

not for rats, 2/3/2009
Paige from lynchburg, VA

I got this for my rats, thinking that if it was big enough for ferrets it would work for my rats. well, i was happy with it for about a month. but now the shelves sag with the weight of just rats, the tunnel and the slide have been out of commission for weeks, and the shelves are hard to clean. pee and poo get stuck in the grooves around the shelves and a toothbrush is needed to get it cleaned well. the plastic also absorbs urine and the puple color has faded a lot from just gentle cleaning products. i recommend this cage for maybe one or two rats and probably not for ferrets. oh yea, and the rats have chewed all the plastic up. the clips on the side no longer work and the plastic isn't good for them if ingested. i sugges some sort of all-metal cage for any animal that may chew

this product is a good short term cage, 1/4/2009
Sasha from Long Island, New York

The great thing about this product is that it's cheap. The bad thing about this product is that it's made cheaply! The slide came broken so i taped it together and it worked for a while but in the long run it's too flimsy (my ferrets small less then 2lbs and it could hardly hold her)this is not a good cage for a larger or male ferret.. My little ferret also can open the cage door, so i wouldn't exactly call this cage ferret proofed.. but if you have a small calm ferret (unlikely) this is a great deal

the sides are very open, so if you have a cat it's not safe at all. and it stands almost tall enough to ride a roller coaster. it's easy for your ferret to get out of because the bars on the sides are so wide. good buy if you have a lot of space,a lot of money, a big ferret, and no other animals.

Dani P from Little Rock, AR

I adopted two ferrets and got this cage for them. It works well, but the slide and ladder are flimsy and do not hold up well. It would work for a first cage for younger ferrets, but once the ferret is full size and heavier, you probably would need to upgrade.

I was a little nervous after reading some of the other reviews, but it turned out to be a great purchase. It was pretty easy to put together. (I did it myself while hubby laid on the couch.) I have 2 little girls so it works great. It might not be a good cage for boys, the shelves do sag a little under weight. But I've never had any of the problems in some of the other reviews.

Great cage for pet rats, 11/5/2008
Sandra from Milwaukee, WI

I originally purchased this cage for my 2 baby ferrets, but decided it would be too small for them when they are full grown. I bought it from a local pet store, and paid much more than the price here on-line. I ended up using it for my 4 pet rat boys, and they love it. They have so much fun in this cage. They use the slide, tube, and ramp with no problem. I have a hammock and cube in there, and they love jumping from the shelves to their favorite beds. They also love climbing up, and down the bars. This cage is also very easy to clean with the 3 doors, and the cage easily comes off the base to clean the bottom. Its been holding up very good, and my boys are pretty rough. I think its too small for a couple full grown ferrets, but its perfect for a family of pet rats. It really is a nice cage.

I don't know where to begin with this cage! First of all it was nice that it was so cheap, but I paid for it in the long run. The plastic shelves are cheap and end up sagging and warping. My ferret Cicielia wouldn't dare go in the tunels and stayed on the bottom level the entire time she spent in the cage. She got so bored inside she bit the wires and they were so CHEAP they broke/bent. She got a toe stuck in the wiring and ripped her toe OFF. Do NOT buy this cage.

Suzette loves this cage!, 10/16/2008
Leah from Chattanooga, TN

Mine and my boyfriend's ferret Suzette loves this cage. She got it as a present almost a year ago when she and I moved into my boyfriend's apartment and loves it. She's scared of the funnel though and refuses to use it so we ended up taking it out and rearranging the shelves a little. The only complaint that I have is that the replacement parts are only what originally comes with the cage. I would love to see replacement shelves without the hole so that one solid level can be made with them. Will definitely be getting another one if and when this one wears out.

this cage was just a waste of my time. My ferret used the so called slide as a litterbox. It was a mess. the ramp also broke. The levels curve inward when my ferret is standing on it, because it could barely hold my ferret up. When assembling there was a missing bolt so i had to find my own., and the hammock it come with only lasted 1 week till my ferret ripped it to shreds! get a nicer cage than this dump!

It's hard to get a nice size cage for such a good price. The quality of the slide and platforms aren't great. (The plastic hinges broke off on mine when I took it out of the box) But nevertheless my ferret loves all the room he has. As well as the tunnel. I don't even use the ramp or slide he can jump up without them and they kept falling off. Like I said. The quality isn't superb but it is a very spacious cage for 1-2 ferrets. Overall I'm happy. The price makes this cage worth it.

Leah from KoP PA

But overall, this is a great cage. Especially for the price. And for my two lil girls, its the perfect size. The metal was a bit bent when I got it, but some zip ties secured it fine. And you MUST MUST MUST attach allll the green bits to the shelves before you put them in or is is IMPOSSIBLE to reach and then they break. I think it's good to have two hammocks, my girls use the lower one as a second way to climb up to the 2nd shelf. But I think for 78.99 instead of 139.99 (like it is at Petco) this cage is a bargain if you are on a tight budget but want a new home for your fuzzbutts

I bought this cage about 3 months ago for my new ferret and it seemed to be okay. He didn't know how to use the slide, and even after showing him, he refused to use it because is was so flimsy and finally broke off. I liked how the platforms are plastic, but they are too small and after 3 months, are caving in. We just got another ferret and now are going to have to get a much larger cage seeing as though they have no room to run around and play.

The quality of this cage is not very good. Within the first day the slide and the ramp broke at the connection points and the actual levels and ramp started to slope in the middle.

it's an ok cage, 8/6/2008
Mellie from Ca

I got this cage for my ferret, it isn't the best but for the price what do you expect. My little girl loves to chew on the wires, but they're holding up to her.The parts are really flimsy and it's hard to clean since the doors are really tiny.If you get this cage be sure to get a lot of hammocks since my little one fell a lot when we first got this cage.Getting a litterbox in and out of the cage is a big mess since it can hardly fit through the doors when I got a corner litterbox since I thought it would be easier to get in and out of the cage.I don't recommend leaving your ferrets in there for too long because even with a lot of toys they can still get bored and start shaking the cage to open it.So spend the extra money and buy a ferret nation cage!!

Pretty Good, 7/29/2008
Traci Bowen from Chillicothe, OH

This is a nice cage, it came with our ferrets when we bought them from a neighbor. The slide and ramps didn't last very long because the quality of them wasn't that great. Other than that it holds well and our two ferrets love it. I like the multiple doors on it and the ability to rearrange the cage every time I clean it (to keep my furry friends thinking & on their toes). However, the biggest worry is the height of the cage, while it does give more room, it is a long way down from the top level to the bottom. Therefore, hammocks or additional shelves are necessary to keep your pets safe. I would recommend this cage to anyone with 1 or 2 ferrets that can head to the above mentioned warnings.

pretty good cage, 7/25/2008
Christian from Maryland

I just got my ferret a few weeks ago. He loves to climb it all the time. The things like the ramp and the tunnel, those things are really sturdy, but the slide is very wobbaly and I'm a little worried that it might detach when my ferret is using it. I reccomend that you buy an extra hammock, just incase he/she falls because it is a very tall cage.

Ok cage, 7/19/2008
Julie from Maryland

When I bought my ferret the owner had given this cage to me! Its colorful and all but not the best quality. The platforms begin to slope inward and sometimes fall off. Also the slide doesn't hold up my ferret the best and forget about the ramp! My ferret rips the ramp off and throws it at the bottom of the cage!

super pet my first home, 7/12/2008
Debra from Larksville,Pa

I had this cage given to me by a neighbor that recently lost her ferret. The cage when put together has some faults that can be corrected with a little tweaking. The hooks on the sides that hold together to make the cage frame itself should be crimped even tighter once the cage is put together to prevent the animal from "squeezing their body thru it. my neighbor lost her ferret when it became trapped this way. I also reccommend using zip ties to further sturdy this cage or any other that might come along because as we all know ferrets will go wherever their heads will fit thru. Otherwise the cage is sufficient.

Just fine if you tweak it, 6/27/2008
Barbara from Vermont

This cage is not of the absolute best quality but for our ferrets first cage it will do just fine. I do suggest playing with the shelving and staggering them in a different manner than what is shown on the box, that is what we did after we saw one of our two ferrets take a tumble. Be aware that the cutesy green ramps and such are not great quality and yes the purple shelves will bow eventually. The ferrets seem to like it and are happy to tool around, we have two hammocks hanging above the purple shelves that are essentially side by side except one is a couple of inches higher - this prevents falls. Over all we are ok with this cage for now, we will probably get a different one that is sturdier in the future.

Wonderful Cage, 6/17/2008
Christian from Baltimore, MD

I haven't bought my fuzzy yet because I wanted to get the cage first. It took me a while to figure out how I wanted the shelves and I had to keep moving them around. Finally, I just went with the design on the box which was the best one there is. It seems very sturdy and the tunnel, ramp, and slide also seem very strong. One of the problems that I had was the doors opened way too easily. All that I did was take pliers and tightened them a little which made a big difference- they are now alot harder to open which relieved me. It is very tall and solid. When I do get my ferret, I think she will have a great time in it. It was also a very good price. Overall, a wonderful cage.

this cage is useless., 6/11/2008
Amanda from Tavares, Fl.

I got this cage when I found my second ferret, it was cheap and I need the extra room. I do not recomend this cage for anything bigger than a rat. My Domino has managed to escape several times, the platforms bow after about a months or so. It is easy to clean, but its not as sturdy as I would like, espically for housing two ferrets. The spiral stairs/slide fell apart after the first week, and the ramp will not stay attached to any platform.

Great for the price and better for a Start, 6/1/2008
Joseph from Everett, Wa

This cage works great for a starting cage supporting a max of 2 ferrets happily. I was pleased with the size for the price as most stores have this for 150 dollars. Shina and Kiko love this home and it has been around for about a year. however i do not like it as much as they do. The wiring is easy to bend and the doors get weaker with time shina has learned how to open them so i had to bend the latches so they lock harder. When i got it the ramp broke so i had to modify it and it works. Im upgrading to the ferret nation home but for the price my ferrets have loved this home and im sure they will miss it. If your new to parenting a little one and don't have much cash this is a great start but save up later for a higher quality rig.

Huge!, 5/18/2008
Malina from Pittsburgh

My boyfriend had the pleasure of opening the box and putting the cage together while I was at work, but when I got home I was very surprised at how big the cage was! It definately is a great cage for the price. The adjustable shelves are nice, I can give my baby something new to explore. It can be a little akward to clean at times, but it's made a little easier with 3 doors and the fact the cage detaches from the base. Okie had a few problems with the spiral slide and first floor tube, but with a week of some poking and pushing, he eventually figured out the concept. Now he goes all over the cage and loves the sleeping hammock. Another thing I'd like to note is the fact that I had to move some of the shelves around so that if he fell, that he wouldn't fall too far. WATCH OUT FOR THIS!

I have 2 female rats and they love it. The boys aren't grown enough for them since it has a large bar spacing, but Bailey and Maiyu love it. I put in 4 hammocks and a ferret cube in it. I have a litter pan in the bottom corner and it's great. The rats never fall off the platforms. It does hold pee on the shelves though if they have an accident.

This cage is not that good of a cage., 4/28/2008
Ferret lover from Miami, Florida

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAGE FOR A STARTER CAGE FOR YOUR FERRET. This cage is not that good of a cage because every time I try to clean it the cage always falls apart like last time I tried to clean it the cage fell over and ferret food got all over my floor and water too the thing I don't like about it that it is so hard to clean because you have to take it off the bottom and all that stuff. Just yesterday I bought a ferret nation model 142 and I think it is going to be the best thing I could possibly get for my ferret and I would recommend it for all you ferret owners too.

I was a bit put off by the negative reviews that this cage has received, but I have found that this cage is wonderful. It's not difficult to keep clean at all, it's easy to assemble, and my boy loves it. If you're litter training your ferret...any cage is going to seem tedious to clean. My hob is around 3.5-4 pounds, and it is a nice size for him.

Our ferrets cant really play much in the cage but since they usually only sleep in their cage it isnt really a problem. They have another cage that is shorter and wider, which I think they like much more. The tall cages arent as easy for a ferret to play in as the shorter, longer ones.

We recently got this cage for our ferret. We found that it's safer to arrange the platforms all going the same way (rather than having the center platform going a different way). That way there aren't any dangerous places that our ferret can fall from. After we made that adjustment everything has been great! Our little guy LOVES his new home!! And we love it too!

Do Not Buy This Cage!, 3/5/2008
Caitlin from Tucson, Az

This cage is such a safety hazard that I am astounded that they are still being made! My ferret fell inside of this cage multiple times due to the slick plastic shelves and ramp. My ferret ended up injuring himself so bad that he could not use one of his rear legs and I ended up spending hundreds of dollars at our local emergency clinic on xrays, pain meds, and steroids for the inflammation and swelling. The vet also thought that he may have injured himself internally. DO NOT BUY THIS CAGE! Spend the extra $100 on a cage that is safe. Believe me, you will save that much money in vet bills, not to mention avoiding fuzzy suffering. I ended up purchasing the Ferret Nation cage which is very safe and well worth the extra money.

I have two Ferrets and this is the first cage we bought. We should have paid more money for a better cage. Its HORRIBLE. The ferrets can fall from high distances and the plastic is cheep. The shelf where they spend most of their time is completely dipped in and almost broke. Also, the slide breaks every time they use it. We ended up rearranging everything to make it safer. we are saving for a MUCH nicer cage

i bought this on sale at petco for $100. It was easy enough to assemble, although the green pieces are difficult to put on and i snapped a few connecters. so i put my ferrets in it and my little girl immediatly began climbing around... she fell from the top shelf multiple times. the ramp is also falling apart very quickly and it wont be able to stay on there soon. I cant tell you much about the other pieces as my babies haven't quite figured them out yet. But i do know one person who has this cage, and her ferret tried to squeeze through a gap in the corner (my cage also has these gaps) and ended up seriously injured. I intend to get a new cage as soon as possible, because i am afraid to leave my babies alone in it.

It's not THAT bad., 2/6/2008
Cody T from St. Croix Falls, WI

I've had this cage, and my ferret Zeus for close to two years now. It wasn't too bad to set up... So, after the strong smell of ferret waste filled my room after the first few days, I decided to clean and rearrange his cage. The slide broke the very first time. I had to take a lighter, and weld the plastic together and it has been fine since. The slide also broke, and I don't even know where it is any longer... But other than the cheap plastic, it really isn't a bad cage. I just wish I would have gotten it for this price...PetCo tripled it practically... Figures... So, overall for the price it's a good product in my opinion.

I just bought and recieved it tonight. I put it together immediately. Then placed my ferret inside. That was 2hrs ago. Droid is still going crazy!! lol. This cage is massive. It's big enough for 2-3 ferrets, toys and more tunnels. I added a corner litter pan which they offer here (purple lock on). Snap together slide was alil hard to get put together, and it tends to want to pop appart with one of the connectors. but as of now its a wonderful toy which Droid likes. Infact my moms already purchasing it right this very moment.

I bought this cage for my four rats. A part did break while trying to assemble. Only took me about 15 min, by myself. Within a week the ramp had broken. The twist slide was very unstable and my rats did not like using it. I had to get creative to find ways for them to get to other levels. The cage overall does give them lots of room to run and jump around. They seem to really enjoy it. However I do not know if I will buy another one of these super pet cages again. Fool me once. I do not have any problem w/ Ferret.com Just the cage.

(is not an even floor but no one can get though and food a water bowls over the hole were the tunnels a tube seals the deal. my cons i dont think ferrets care for slides!!!"

ive heard alot of negitive things about this cage but after i bought it and my ferret started using it i really didnt see why everyone said negitive things about it. my ferret loves this cage the only thing he uses is the ramp though... he didnt understand the tunnel or the slide so he climbs on the shelves but on the second to the third level he uses the ramp. i also rearranged the shelves because he once fell and its a long fall so instead of the middle shelf sitting like it is on the right side i have it on the front so the ends that clip are on the right and left side so if he falls hes going to fall on the shelf and not get hurt. its a lil small if you would want to put other things inbesides the hammock. its a good starter cage though. i hope my review helped your decision...

Okay as a ONE ferret cage., 1/22/2008
Andria from Michigan

My ferrets refuse to use the slide because it is not sturdy at all. The plastic used is extremely slippery so when my boys try to use the ladder they just slide down. And now that our first ferret is full grown he has a hard time with the tube. The height just does NOT make up for the lack of floor space. we had almost NO room with one small corner litter box, a food bowl, and the ferret home we had for him to sleep in. Now there is only MAYBE 2 square inches left since we bought a square litter box and a second ferret. They now refuse to play in the cage at all.

An O.K. Cage for a 1st-timer, 1/4/2008
Samantha from San Antonio, Texas

I just got my first ferret (Snoopy) on Christmas Day and this cage I had recieved with him. It was Extreamly simple to put together and assembly took maybe 30 min MAX! However, the plastic is sort of cheaply made and when my ferret (who is only a kit's wieght and size) steps on to the ramp and the slide, the material bends and wobbles. Snoopy doesnt even travel the whole length of the slide, he only gets as far as he feels comfortable and then jumps on to the next level from there. This fact dissapointed me because I was so looking forward to seeing him sliding down and landing at the bottom into a pile of litter =]. I will most likely upgrade soon due to the fact that I don't feel that the cage will be substantial enough for more than one ferret and I plan on extending Snoopy's family fairly soon. All in all, it is a good starter cage but it tires quickly and soon is grown out of. =[

My ferret loves it. It maybe cheap but you get what you pay for. I would recommened you purchase this cage of the website, as many will agree, because itll save you money, you dont want to pay more and get swindelled by the big guys. Its all around a good cage especially if your on a budget. What impressed me was the size. I only have 1 ferret right now and he really dont know what to do with all the space but im sure he'll figure something out. Id recommened it to any first time ferret owner like myself because its so cheap if it breaks I can afford another one. However I wish they'd come out with something more durable at a reasonable cost.

Cage is FRUSTRATING, 12/29/2007
Jamie from South Bend, IN

I thought this cage was great when I first got it. (I didn't buy it, it came with our ferret) Then I had to clean it. You can't easily clean the cage without taking it a part, which is a huge inconvience. Then, you have to find a way to put it back together in a way that is still safe for your ferret. I will be purchasing a Marshall cage in the near future to replace this nightmare.

My ferrets love it so far, 12/10/2007
Anjali from Baltimore, MD

I have had this cage for about 6 weeks for my kits, and they love it. I have it arranged differently - ladder is lowest level, supported by the floor. Next is the tube, then the swirly slide. I moved the second level so that it fully supports the slide. This way the ladder and slide do not wobbly (some say their ferrets are afraid of the wobbling). Once the kits were big enough, they could master more and more of the levels. It took them a day or two to figure out how to climb the slide. Now they like to even sleep in the slide:-) I don't have to take this apart to clean it. Mine luckily only poop in the litterbox, so I just need to reach in and shovel it out. I have an extra large corner litterbox and it fits through the door. Even wiping the whole cage down inside is easy for me, using the doors, not taking it all apart. I like that these are solid surfaces, not wire, my ferrets find them comfy enough to sleep on instead of their bedding sometimes. Could even snap the levels together to form a full floor. HAven't done that yet, though I plan to rearrange the floors occasionally to keep them occupied and exercising:-) I do let my fuzzies out to play a few times a day though, wouldn' want to leave them in this cage all day - allows for deliberate climbing around, but not enough space to race around or anything like that! Happy with this as a first time cage, not sure if they will outgrow it though, will have to see!

Great price, Poorly made., 12/2/2007
Kate from Melbourne,FL

This cage would be absolutely wonderful if it wasn't so cheaply made. Very cheap plastic is used, making the slide, tiers, and ramps completely useless, and probably dangerous. Several parts arrived broken upon delivery, and several parts broke while attempting to assemble. I doubt I will ever purchase any 'Super Pet' products again. However, www.ferret.com was a joy to work with, has an excellent return policy, and I would definitely order from then again.

Don't waste your money!!!, 11/30/2007
Sarah from Bonita Springs, Fl

i have two ferrets and bought this cage about a year ago and have HATED it. It is built so cheaply! the ramp was impossible to put on and the OH SO FUN slide broke when i was putting it together, i thought i could just fix it but i should have returned it. My ferrets were too big to use the slide anyway, it just bends to the side so they fall off of it. The cheap plastic floors all bend when my ferrets walk accross them (which is all they can do in this cage). You can't fit a regular sized litter box through any of the doors. My ferrets have fallen off the hammock more than once, and thats a long fall for a fuzzy, making this cage a hazard. I also tried to take two of the "floors" and put them together in an effort to make this cage safer and they HARDLY fit on the same level. I made them fit and pinched my fingers quite a few times in the process. I wouldnt recomend this to any ferret owner! its a joke.

PRICE!!$$, 11/8/2007
Allendra from TN

I just wanted to say that I had run to a local pet store and this same cage was $150 there!!! OK With that said after shipping my total was $85 to ship to where I live. I will rate this again once I get the item in the mail, but I have seen it in person as they have it set up in the pet store. It seems great when I tested it out there. I just wanted to let you know the price difference, you do the math! : Very happy with this website.

Good cage for 1st time ferret owners, 10/22/2007
Dylan from Leesport, PA

im a first time ferret owner and i was getting 2 adult ferrets. i didnt have alot of money to get something high quality and spacious. i searched the internet for the best cage for my money and i found that this cage was the best deal. i was suprised when i got it home and put it together. it was bigger than i had expected and its decent for 2 ferrets. i would say 1 or 2 ferret limit in this cage. the assembly of this cage is very easy a young child can put this together, no major work needed jsut snapping together a few things is all. it was nice to include a hammock, my ferrets like this. the slide and tube that come with this i had removed it after awhile because i can see my ferrets didnt like them and they just were in the way. the slide is kinda flimsy and can easily break. the ferrets can get to all 3 levels without the slide and ramp etc., so its not necessary. you can even adjust things the way you want and possibly add onto it. the cage itself is sorta fragile, if a big dog jumped up on it heshe would knock it down or collapse it. its sorta fragile in that way but sturdy enough for ferrets. overall its a nice cage, spacious for 1-2 ferrets, room for: hammocks, food and drink dishes, toys, and litter pan. great starter cage but later i would invest in something more better quality. though this cage is very nice for the price. my ferrets like it, i like it, so we all are happy.

one of the best, 8/3/2007
chris from OH

almost everything i can say about this cage is bad, which is really a shame. everything stems from one problem cheap plastic. the bad: additional tiers are so small, a problem it seems like almost all ferret cages have, they arent big enough to play on, barely big enough to walk on, when 2 ferrets try to pass eachother on the same platform, one inevitably falls off. at least one of the tiers should have been a full 2x2 ramps, spiral thing, tube, all made of super cheap plastic, all shake horribly when the ferrets are on them, the spiral is the worst, my ferrets are afraid to even use that it shakes so much, so they just climb the cage bars my ramp was broken right out of the box, the plastic is so bad spiral is so tightly wound with no sides, even if it didnt shake, i dont think my baby ferrets would be able to get up it without falling, let alone a full grown fert the cage attaches to the base with cheap plastic latches, ive only removed them twice for cleaning and already it looks like they are going to break. the cage just sits on the wheels, it is not attached, i think a good jolt from a child might send it tumbling over minor complaint, the hammock is cheap and ugly and doesnt match the rest of the cage doors can be somewhat difficult to open and close, sometimes i want to get into the cage without disturbing sleeping ferrets but its just not possible with these doors. what redeems this cage and i think still makes it one of the best is its design, thats why its such a shame they cheaped out on the materials the good: high sides on the base are a blessing, poop and food stays in, you can put down bedding, its super easy to clean. edges on the inside of the base are rounded, not sharp angles, makes it easy to clean 3 large doors makes accessing all areas fairly easy, you can scoop the litter box from the door. in the end i hate to be so hard on this cage, but it so easily could have been so much better. nonetheless i think its probably one of the best cages out there, i have tried many many cages and the only one i like better is the ferret nation habitat model 142, but it is not without its flaws too. so although i give it 2 stars for its shameful quality, it STILL beats the competition, and id still recommend it for any ferret owner with less than 3 ferrets

This cage is great. I have a 8 week old ferret and he loves it. Not to mention the fact that it is 50 cheaper than in the stores. I put the whole thing together in less than an hour. There is plenty of space for toys, hammocks, litter pan. Very easy to clean. I would recommend!!!

Not so happy, 6/29/2007
Nadine from Phoenix, AZ

I bought this cage along with two baby ferrets only three weeks ago and here I am searching for a new cage to replace this one. It is a nice cage, big and lots of fun levels, but it wont stay nice for long. We clean our cage very often. You have to take the entire top portion of the cage off to clean out the pan. The plastic parts on this cage are already breaking and the shelves are saging. The metal frame is so flimzy that it is misshapen and bent from removing it to clean.

ferret dreams, 6/8/2007
cassie gwaltney from eldorado, il

I bought this cage for my baby ferret bear and he LOVES it :p I looked at many other cages and I decided to get get one and I am so impressed!!! The hardest part of putting it together was probably getting the ladder to stay on the shelve while you put the shelf in place : This cage is easy to put together and the instructions are easy to follow!!! Your ferret or ferrets will have plenty of room because the cage is SO BIG :p The bottom in deep so the bedding will not come out and the litter boxes fit in the cage perfectly!!! You can put the shelves wherever you want and you have tons of room for hammocks and toys : I would recommended this cage to anyone with a ferret or small animal!!! Rats would go though the cage bars unless they are really large rats :p HOPE THIS HELPED :

Good for rats!, 2/12/2007
Holly from Reading, PA

I have two adult male rats and purchased this cage model for them in hopes that it would give them more of an opportunity to climb and not be bored when Im at work! I have to say they absolutely love it, and my little boys were not able to squeeze through the bars. The plastic swirly slide is flimsy though, even under the weight of the rats, and the shelves are sagging a little from cleaning them. Its an incredible amount of space for them though, and they enjoy the climbing. My guess is that if the plastic shelves and accessories can barely hold the rats, theyre probably not sturdy enough for ferrets... Its also kind of hard to clean.

Could Be Better, 1/24/2007
Shanna from Portland, OR

This is the first cage that I bought for my ferrets and I feel it could be designed better. The plastic shelves warp after a short time from the weight of the ferrets. The slide is useless and my guys tore it off so they could get to the upper levels easier. The ramp is too slippery and I took that out. I feel like there is not enough shelf space either. I have made my own add ons to give them some more space. It is hard to get a litter box through the door, but I just take the bottom off and clean it that way. Invest a little more in a Ferret Nation cage and you will be better off especially for multiple ferrets.

Its ok, 1/20/2007
Angi from Winchester,Va

I recently purchased 2 baby ferrets and got this cager for them. The shelves are flimsy, I dont think they will hold up as my ferrets get bigger. By the time I put in a litter pan and a small house for them to sleep in, there was very little room to walk. Also, if you buy this I recommend putting a large hammock in the middle to catch them. Mine fall off the shelves all of the time. I do like the fact that this cage is easy to clean and has a door at every level.

BOO, 1/14/2007
Lisa from Chicago

I hate this cage...the levels are all sagging down and theres no room in there! The only place my poor ferret can actually have a good time would be on the bottom, but thats where his litter box and food are. Not only are the shelves a joke, but so is that slide...dont even bother with that thing. Ive had this cage for about 7 months now and Ive finally had it, dont waste your money. You might as well spend more and get something thatll last!

My Backup Cage, 1/5/2007
Marie from Michigan

This cage looks great, but is a pain to put together and very hard to clean. The doors are too small, so its hard to get a litterbox inside. The smaller doors on my model are jammed and Ive never been able to open them. The ferrets that I got the cage for were too infirm to pull themselves through the tubes onto the shelves. I ended up using the solid shelves to create two floors and lined them with puppy pads, bedding, and dishes so that each ferret had a room while the other cages were being cleaned. Now I use the cage to store extra ferret supplies, or as a backup. I like my Marshall and Ferret Nation cages better.

A Great Choice, 12/23/2006
MerlynMatthew from Bryan, OH

Our ferret Ricki is a year old and was seeming a bit cramped in the cage that I originally bought him. I seen this one and thought it was reasonably priced enough to give it a try. It works very well, definately enough space for one ferret, may be pushing it putting two or more into it...but doNt take my word on that, I love to give the lilbandits lotsa room to be themselves. A neg. comment here and there...there is the shelves mentioned in previous comments. They will begin to sag with time iM sure. Superpets could do better by reinforcing these larger platforms. I wish the wouldVe added another ramp as there is only one. But, to be honest...wouldNt know exactly where to put it. I worked for about two hours configuring the cage to be mutually ferrethuman friendly. I prolly did push matters seeing as I added a T, two elbows, one straight, and a halfball funnel to the interior. Also, the slide was too small really to support Ricki and I doNt believe the correct pieces went into packing this cage. Overall though...GREAT cage...love the wheels and the size, give it a try.

trish from nj

nice cage - seems sturdy. ferrets love it. only complaint is that the tubes/tunnels are very hard to snap together. that all fine, if they didnt look as if they were going to break themselves while pressing on them. luckily they didnt but it was frustrating. also, if you decide to buy this product be prepared to perhaps buy (separately)fleece covers for the platforms. ferrets seem to have a tough time pulling themselves up on the plastic platforms. covers w/come in handy if your ferret doesnt seem to like the idea of going up the slide/ladder. the ladder is also on a very steep angle as well. the ferrets really have no use for it. -- however ,, overall ,, it IS A NICE CAGE :)
