It is bigger than it looks and we really like it. When I first got it my little girl could excape from the cage but now shes bigger and can't. It arrived with one broken shelf and no casters, but they quickly replaced the shelf and sent casters. I really love ferret.com, best prices and great customer service.

When I first bought this cage I thought I would love it... it was pretty easy to put together and it was so much bigger then what I expected. When I got the cage the bottom plastic piece was cracked but nothing a little tape wouldn't fix... then I found out that between the two cage pieces the bars are wider apart then the rest of the bars and my ferrets can fit through the bars and get out of there cage so I had to rig it so that they couldn't get out... then one of the wheels broke so I had to go buy a new wheel for it... also the cage doesn't come with enough flooring pieces to make a nice design for the ferrets... I can deal with this cage but I don't like it... It really shouldn't cost $120 bucks, should be more like $50 or $60 bucks.

Very happy -arrived in a timely manner,no broken parts ( I'm thinking they read past reviews and changed the bottom to a more durable ,less shatter proof plastic.I put it together myself with hardly any cuss words-one word of advice- clip the ramps on the levels first,it's very hard to get them on when the floors are in.

I really don't like this cage at all and neither have any of the 3 ferrets I've tried this cage with. The materials are really cheap and the plastic platforms are so noisy when a ferret walks on them its horribe. My parents who are a floor below me in our house can hear whenever my ferret moves around in the cage since the platforms are such a terrible material. Overall, this cage is pretty horrible and I would definitely not recommend it. It's the least ferret friendly cage I've come across, and I've been a ferret owner for the past 6 years. The size is nice, but that's about all it has going for it.

I purchased a new cage for my 2 ferrets in March 2010. I researched the entire site - reading review after review. I felt as though the "Marshall Townhouse" would be perfect. The perfect height, width and brand. I've only heard good things about Marshall products, so I was looking forward to their new cage. Buyers beware. The cage arrived in a timely manner, so no issues there. We were in the process of buying our new home - so I waited a week to open the box. At this time we were in the middle of moving all our things in, so it was imparitive to set the cage up as quickly as possible. I opened the box - and the base corners were broken. 2 SIDES! These weren't just little holes either - they could easily fit through whenever they wanted. As I said - we really had no time, so I sucked up the fact, taped up the corners and proceeded to put the cage together. It doesn't even go together right. The metal snaps to keep it in place just hang there, they don't snap tight. Both my ferets were used to 2 solid floors. This only has enough shelves to make 1/2 floor and levels to get to the bottom. It includes the platforms for the ferets to climb down to the bottom or up a level if you choose - but no clasps to attach them. So now, they are too scared to drop down to the next level, so they go to the bathroom on their main level. I've made every effort for the distance between levels to be as close as possible, but they're rounded - so it's hard. It has been absolutely disgusting. Every few days or so I find my little guy (junior) outside the cage. I have no idea how he gets out but he does. I've checked and rechecked thinking maybe the tape was bitten through ... but no. So it came broke, misssing parts, and doesn't securely keep them in. I wish I checked the box earlier, and gave myself more time to send it back if needed. Now I've spent $130 on something that I absolutely hate. This is the worst product I've ever bought.

I live in NY and had my order within 2 days which was great! however the base was cracked and it was missing 8 out of 16 clips. I called customer service and they were wonderful, to my dismay it sounds like it will take me much longer to get the missing parts then it was to receive my first order. (the size is great though!)

The only complaint I have about this cage is the fact that the way they pack the bottom in the box leaves it vulnerable for damage. When I opened my box there were several cracks and pieces missing from the bottom half. I have emailed ferret.com and I am still waiting for a reply but from what I've read on here this is kind of common and they are good about fixing it. However, I put tape over the holes until I can get it replaced and my ferrets LOVE it. I have two ferrets, luna and elle and they both play in it all day. I also bought them a pink fuzzy hammock that hangs from the top that they can both crawl in and curl up. I am very satisfied with the overall product and price of this cage!!!

ok i was amazed about how fast it got here and the base was broken but i can just put the PIECE back together with some duck tape but its a little hard to put together but i seem to have got it half way done. im going to use mine for a chinchilla so hopefully it works

Like the other reviews, the base came broken. I really expected that it was going to be broken from all the reviews. However, for the square footage, you get the bang for you buck. The shelves seem a little flimsy, but my little girl is less then 2 lbs right now. While I was waiting for the new base, I put a tarp on the floor, and set the cage on the tarp to protect the carpet. The doors are set so you can "lock" them in place to secure you babies without worry. All in all, if I had it to do over, I would still purchase this cage.

My cage arrived today, and like many others, the base was broken. I called and they are sending a replacement base, but I need it now, so I taped it together which looks kind of tacky but works. The reason I received was because of the weather, and that is why the bases are breaking, but it is not that. It is because of the way they are packed. All of the heavy metal cage is packed inside the base and if the box is moved roughly in any way, the base doesn't stand a chance of surviving shipping. Overall, I love the cage size and look though. My two ferrets are rescues from a hoarder, and may have never experienced anything like it, so they are really doing some exploring. Other than the shipping/packing, I am happy with it. I love ferret.com though because they are awesome to work with and the prices are phenomenal. I would recommend it, just be prepared to replace the base.

My kit loves the levels and when he's in a hurry he'll jump down or climb up instead of using the ladders. Easy access for cleaning and getting ferrets out.

So far the only problem with this cage I have encountered is that my little ferret had trouble going up and down the ramps. The ramps are a sturdy plastic but can be slippery. Simple solution to this problem is to place socks over the ramps. My little girl loves her cage now! Hope this helps.

I was so surprised to find such a large cage for such a good price. Pet stores here charge way too much, I couldn't get a cage half this size for this price. Very satisfied. However, the base was cracked and some shelves were broken so very poorly shipped. Replacement parts were shipped very timely with no hassle. There was some confussion about shipping to canada, only phone orders are accepted.

After ordering this product I read most of the reviews and was astonished at how many displeased customers their were. I was really nervous that my shipment would arrive and the cage floor would be broken along with some panels and that the quality would be unsturdy and cheap like alot of people stated. Alas, when it arrived (which was very prompt, it beat my Fosters and Smith order by 2 days and I ordered them the same day)I was ecstatic for when I opened the box there was not even a scratch to be seen. The quality of the cage appeares to me to be qite stable and solid and the only "pain in the butt" was a bit of the set up wich was just a bit challenging getting the hooks hooked and whatnot but all that is needed it a tad of patience. I just kow my three boys (ferrets, that is) will LOVE IT! Best of luck to all purchasers!

I was worried that I would recieve it with a cracked base, but everything was great!! I house a chinchilla in this case, but ive removed the shelves and added my own woooden ones. Very sturdy and I would recommend it. Great cage!

I have two boys, one fat and one skinny, and they both manuever thru this extremely large cage with ease. It is spacy and you can design the layout in different ways. Its easy to clean and Its a great cage for $100. If ur concerned about noise I wouldnt recommend you put this cage in your bedroom since you will hear ur critters as they move about within the cage. Also as many people who have purchased the cage have experienced the bottom plastic piece may come cracked, its not a big deal, ferret.com will gladly send you a replacement promptly withno cost to you. Unfortunately, UPS doesnt always handle these packages with care resulting in cracks and breaks in the plastic part. Overall this is a great cage and an even greater bargain.

My two boys, one fat one skinny, both love the cage and manuever 1thru it with ease. You can change up the cage design and platforms which is pretty cool. Its simple to assemble and easy to clean. If ur concerned about noise, u should know that as the ferrets move thru this cage it will make noise. Also, as many other ppl who've]\=,kwq

I have 2 ferrets one chubby male and one female runt she has allways been my escap artist we have went through a few cages and where currently useing arabbit cage with more sturdy cage but i bought this one since it's a lot bigger and sure enough she can get right through most the bars so i have to keep them in the rabbit cage at night and let them play in the big cage during the day but overall a great cage unless you have reraly small ferrets currently trying to sell one or both of the cages to get a bigger stronger cage with better cage materials like the rabbit cage

I received my cage in the mail today and was very excited to set it up and get my babies into it right away. I was very disappointed when I opened it up and the base was completely shattered and unusable. One side was completely broken off. I called ferret.com right away and they are sending me a new base. The rest of the cage is great quality and will be enormous when it is finally set up. I am hoping that the replacement base isn't cracked like many other people have mentioned in their reviews. Overall, the cage is of good quality, huge but you may be making a phone call to ferret.com to complain about a cracked base.

Easy to put up with the exception of the shelves. Very hard to snap in place and although big doors are good, they prevent a lot of shelf placing. Bigger then expected and good quality!

I purchased this cage in november of last year.The base was broken but I recieved another very quickly without any hesitation from ferret.com.The other also came broken but still very usable so I had no problems with it.With help from my boyfriend it was easy to set up,though some things like the shelves needed strong thumbs to snap in place.We only broke one connection.The connections that hold the bottom and top pieces together can be slightly loose but the weight holds it together fine. the lip on the base holds the bottom fine too.My fuzzy I orignally purchased the cage for is one year old & just barely 2 pounds and is a very determined critter that can get anywhere she wants but has never escaped the completly latched cage(she can open it when its not latched).My other fuzzy who I got shortly after purchasing the cage is only 6 months old& a chubbers at 2.7 pounds & has no problems with her cage.She loves it.The selves can move though & she likes to slide down the ramps & can fall off to the bottom if we dont keep an eye on it.it is very sturdy & can be shaken & moved without falling apart.I had to put only one self towards the bottom though to make cleaning easier,it is kinda a pain to clean,but what cage isn't.This is a large cage & for the price i am very pleased with this cage & so are my fuzzies!

Overall I like the Marshall Ferret Townhouse. It holds my 3 ferrets well, especially considering 2 are kinda fatties. It's size to price ratio is amazing and isn't death to setup. A good thing I like about it are the customizable shelves. They let you get creative, and since they are in segments with ridges around the sides, pee can't overrun a whole level. The ramps aren't a problem for my ferrets to get up and they have plenty of room to stretch and walk around. The bottom level has more than enough room for a large plastic castle and large square litter pan. The bars are sturdy, as well. However, with all this good stuff, there are major flaws. Like mose everyone else the base came cracked. Mine has a small hole in one corner and a large escapable hole in the other. The large one wasnt a problem since my large litter pan covers it right up, but if the hole was anywhere else on the bottom I would have had to return it. The worst problem with the cage, which I'm not sure if anybody else complain about, is the some of the bars have enough space for a ferret to slip through. My ferret Estelle Getty can easily slip right through two layers of the bars, as she has numerous time. If I saw anybody else had mention this, I wouldn't have gotten the cage. The two rows of bars right where the top section of the cage sits on the bottom section (if that makes sense) are where Estelle can get through; this only applies to the bars on the front and the back of the cage. She even fits through the parts with small width, but she's the only one of the 3 who have done it. I don't know if it's just my ferret (who is completely full grown and not petite) or if it's possible or any ferret. I still like the cage overall, though, so wrapping those rows with electrical tape did the trick. My other complaint isn't really a flaw, but I would like to have more room for hanging toys, tunnels, or hammocks. The top layer is all you have. Overall, the cage is huge, attractive, accessible, and versitile but will probably come with a cracked base and may allow your ferret to escape.

First I had bottom shipped to me 3 times came cracked all 3 times last time just kept received negative feed back from supplier. But best part bars are so far apart my little girl who is naturally skinny unlike my male just squeze's through bars in the middle and by doors so if your fuzzy's are tiny do not buy.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Both the Townhouse AND the Penthouse are utter rubbish. I ordered the Marshall Ferret Penthouse for $140.00 USD. After six days, I received a package from UPS. I brought it inside, began to open it, then realized it was the Townhouse. Okay, so I got ripped off for $20.00. That's fine, no big deal. So I open the box, and begin laying the parts out so I can assemble it, then realize that the base of the cage is completely destroyed. Not even resembling usable. I've sent an email to Customer Service demanding a refund or replacement, so we'll see how it goes.

I bought this cage for my very large rattie boys and needed more space for 5. I have purchase a number of cages and this one seemed ideal because with rats, one needs bedding and the bottom pan is very deep, a huge plus. As is usual for ferret.com, the bottom tray was broken upon arrival, but replacement is very quick. This cage couldn't be more cheaply put together. It is very flimsy and the numerous shelves (too many) have clips that are supposed to lock onto the sides, but they don't and if you push to try to make them lock, the hard clips will snap off. This makes for difficulty when cleaning because if one isn't terribly careful, the shelves will all fall in while cleaning them and it isn't easy getting them re-attached, because the wire sides are very flimsy and will move on you while trying to attach shelves. The shelves are all smooth with no grooves or ridges which is a nice feature when cleaning if it weren't for them falling in on one another. There are large clips that are supposed to be extra support because the cage actually comes in 2 folded, wired, sections. The bottom part opens and fits into the tray and the other part attaches loosely to this and the clips, most of which do not lock tightly, are supposed to hold it all together. Putting the cage together was a test in patience. The cage is in my 12 yr old's room and was supposed to help make his cleaning easier, but because the shelves fall in so easily, I still have to help with it. My rats are about 22 ounces each and very lazy, but I would think a ferret would reek havoc on this cage and shelves would fall in on them, maybe even cause injury. We've had a shelf fall in on our rats a time or two. It's difficult to find cages for large rats and the idea of this is really nice with the deep tray, but the construction leaves a lot to be desired and had I been able to put it all back in the box after spending an hour or more getting it together, I would have. I don't recommend it for active animals, because it could be dangerous with shelves that cannot be trusted and when cleaning, expect to take a lot of time. The rats enjoy the space, but of the 8-10 shelves that came with the cage, I only put in 4 to make cleaning easier.One other thing, the cage has wheels, but be careful when moving it, because the shelves will fall in if the sides move and if you're not careful, the sides will move.

I bought this cage wanting something big enough to hold more then one ferret comfortably. I got this cage for my female ferret Tink, and I was and still am expecting to get another ferret to keep my little girl company. The cage didn't take too long to ship. When I got it the bottom was cracked but still usable nothing to complain too much about and the cage was bigger then I expected which is a good and bad thing (I could fit comfortably inside the cage that's how big it is). The thing is big so there's plenty of room for probably 4 or 5 ferrets to fit comfortably but I set up the ferret cage in my room which isn't very big at all and I couldn't find anywhere to put it. It would have been nice if they had doors on the side of the cage as well that you could use and they should have made it so you could adjust the doors so they could open upward or downward. I ended up taking the bottom door off so that my ferret could get in and out of her cage. And one of the hooks holding the door broke off telling that it wasn't made very well. They also should have enclosed more floor layers and better instructions showing ways in which the floors could be placed. It took me awhile to figure out a good way to place the floors. My ferret seems to enjoy her cage very much though. I even put carpet on each of the flooring for her. This is a wonderful cage for the price!

My base was also broken, but with one call they agreed to send me a new one. Hopefully I get that one intact. Nice big cage,was pretty simple to put together, but the doors are kinda hard to unlatch. Though my little fuzzy doesn't like being in her cage, she loves the room and multiple levels. Could handle multiple fuzzies, might get her a friend!

Our base was broken when we got it too! Wow! I can't believe someone had the SAME problem! We had the chance to get the Penthouse too, money was not the option, but this one looked "cooler" than the Penthouse. It is a pain to snap together, it's cumbersome, but the ferrets love it! They love it once we can FINALLY get it together! I do love that we can change around the levels to suit our ferrets' growing needs. It's a lot roomier than their last cage. It does LOOK cheap though :( All in all I wish I had gotten the penthouse to LOOK nicer... I'm thinking about spraypainting this thing to make it look a little nicer...

I purchased 2 baby ferrets a couple weeks ago, and wanted a large cage for them. I was very excited when I saw this cage, and ordered it right away. When I received it in the mail I took it out of the box to set it up, and the bottom pan was broken in pieces. After reading the reviews, I am not surprised this happened. The way it is packed makes it easy to break. They need to ship in a larger box with alot of padding to protect it. I returned it, and ordered a different cage from this site. Hopefully the cage coming doesn't come broken too.

The cage is nice and big, but like most people when I got it the base was cracked (it wasn't a big deal, we could still use the cage with the crack). It was a pain to put together though! My ferrets like the cage a lot more than their smaller cage, but in general they don't like being in any sort of cage. It's pretty easy to clean and I like that there are a lot of access doors.

I upgraded to this cage and it is huge! I love how roomy it is for the ferrets and they seem to love having all of that space. The price is great for the size of the cage and it has held together well!

We ordered the cage from Ferret.com three weeks ago. First, it took 5 days to ship. This is understandable, it is a large cage. Not much we could do there. But, the cage came broken. The bottom portion of the cage was cracked and luckily we had a role of duct tape to secure the bottom so our ferrets would have enough space. That day we put in a request for a new bottom. Two weeks later we got the bottom of the cage and they managed to send us the wrong cage bottom. So far we have been very, very unlucky. Our ferrets are making it nevertheless and they love the amount of space they have. Plain and simple, the service was terrible and the merchandise was broken. I am glad ferrets aren't hard to please.

overall its a good cage but when i ordered it, the base was completely cracked. i had a hard time putting it together, its such a pain. its worth the money. and the cage is alot larger than it actually seems.

I was pretty shocked at the size of this cage. Its so roomy! Initial set up was easy..although some tabs were bent a bit. Easy fix, bend them in place. The doors are kinda hard to open, but the cage is very nice.

For some reason I didn't think this cage was going to be so roomy. The pictue does not reflect the true size of this cage. I really like it for this price. Even though my ferrets do not want to be in any cage, they are going in it on their own :)

I found this cage to be one of the best priced and most roomy for my ferrets. The base was broken when i got it but they sent a new one to me 2 days after i got it. Overall a good cage very spacious and not too terrible to clean.

The cage was bigger than expected and house all 3 of our ferrets. They love it. Lots of Space and wheels to move around with. It was cracked at bottom and the company offered to resend but I said it would be fine and they offered a credit. GREAT TO DEAL WITH.

My and my ferret Mi'ko both love this cage. It is very easy to clean, and the price is AWESOME! There is plenty of room for her to run and play when I am at work,and I never worry about her being bored before I get home to let her out.

there's lots of room for my ferret but its hard to clean the cage. also, theres no wheels on the bottom of the cage so you have to lift it up and move it, or break all apart and rebuild. i like the hammock tho. i would not recommend this cage to first hand ferret holders.

This is a great cage... Great price for shipping too. I will definitely be shopping at ferret.com more often for my many products that i need. I was very happy with the purchase i recieved. Cost was great.. My ferret was estatic when i put her in this cage. She was sooo excited running up and down the levels.. She got plenty of exercise that night.. haha well its a great cage.. I would definitely recommend this..

I looked everywhere for the best cage for my babies. Every pet web site, auction site, and pet store. Look at this cage! It is so reasonable for the size and quality. The metal cages are cold looking and bland and $$$. This site has by far the best price on it and super cheap fast shipping. The cage is HUGE and you can easily change shelves and ramps around to what you like. My daughter and I put it together and it was a breeze. My ferrets LOVE it. They are out of their cage a lot during the day and evening, but in their old cage they would still want to be out even more so would shake the bars when they woke up. They rarely do that in this cage cause they arent bored! Great great cage. =)
