This cage is nearly perfect except for one thing...The top latch has a screw that comes with it that you are supposed to push in and that holds the cage top in place. Unfortunately the screw was WAY to big and we had to use a dremel tool to cut the hole bigger. We overshot it, and then the screw wouldn't stay in the hole. So we nixed the screw and used a black, thick zip tie and it works perfectly.
Other than that one tiny issue (and it's an issue more than one person has had with this particular model) the cage is awesome. My little fuzzy has so much room and so much fun. :)

I got this cage for my rats since they were starting to outgrow their old one, and I wanted them to have a ferret cage because of the size. Having been hesitant at first because of all the negative reviews about broken bases, shelves not fitting properly, etc, it was the depth of the base and its extremely convenient pull out design (my boys are so messy! lol!)that ultimately convinced me. I was so pleased when it came! There was SO much room and everything fit great! The bars are of sturdy steel, and the shelves a very decent plastic. Although the options are limited on where you can place the shelves because the doors are so large, I think it is better this way. The large doors offer easier access to inside the cage. I think the only negative aspect is use of pins to keep the doors shut, hindering one handed use. Again, not a big deal. This cage is fantastic, roomy, well made, and well worth the price! My two boys and I love it, and since it is extremely roomy, more ratties can join them! Thanks ferret.com!

We have two girls, and there is PLENTY of room! We've had them in it for over a year, and it has held up well. Building it was easy, and was delivered without any flaws. The casters make it easy to move. Only things to take into consideration, one of my girls is a chewer, and likes to chew on the plastic floors. Also, the way the levels are shown in the picture is pretty much the only way you can arrange the levels. But it's been very great! And especially for the price. I would buy it again, or recommend it to a friend.

Hello my name is Gizmo I'm a Marmoset Monkey. My mommy and daddy bought this cage for me a little over a month ago and I LOVE IT!!!Mommy likes the fact that she can take off the doors for me so I can go in and out whenever I want to because I don't like to be locked in. Also, mommy said the cage was easy to put together and would of been much easier if I wasn't trying to help. Overall mommy and I would recommend this cage.OH NO mommy is coming better get off her puter before I get in trouble AGAIN!!

for the money, it's a decent cage. i got it because it was large and came with a deep basin (which we needed since our ferret wasn't potty trained at the time.) easy to put together. i like the completely customizable levels (i don't like platforms butting up against corners, as she tends to use them as potty spots.)
however on more than one occasion our ferret has wiggled out from gaps between the basin and the cage. yikes! :( i've modded the cage to protect against that, but that simply should not happen. the design where the troth meets the cage is an accident waiting to happen. i also wish the locking mechanism was not a separate post and latch, since it can be a pain in the butt to open and close with a wiggly critter in your arms.

I own to Chins and they both love the cage. My only problem is that some welded pieces have broken at the joints, I have had to repair using coat hangers and the shelving are cracking. I do wished that they had the tunnels for these as my guys love them. My other cage is a Ferret also-purple & green that I use as a spare as needed. My cage is only 2 years old!!!!

When I first opened up the box I noticed the base was broken, along with a few of the snap on floors for inside the cage. Screwing the screws into the cage ended up stripping the metal so it made it much harder to assemble. I thought the ramps with the small ridges in them would make it easier on my fuzzies to get around the cage, but it ended up making it harder for them to get down. They get nervous trying to come down the ramps and end up sliding down head first. Most comfy cubes and hammocks are too short for the fuzzies to jump into to go to sleep so they were sleeping on the floors. In conclusion, the box with the newspaper shreds ended up being more fun for the little fuzzy monsters than their new home has been. Maybe they just need to get used to it.

I first purchased a smaller cage when I bought my son's ferrets, it was so flimsy they could get out and the shelves would fall on them. I found this cage and ordered it, received it in 5 days! Had a few issues with screws stripping and the allen wrench didn't work well so I used one of my husbands and assembled it quickly after that. The ferrets LOVE it.. It is very sturdy and looks like a great cage... The biggest selling point was the pull out tray for litter cleaning!

I wanted a very large cage for my one little guy because he outgrew his first cage and I have hopes of getting 3 more ferrets to join him. I read all the reviews and people would say "the cage is much bigger than I expected" and they were right. I thought I would be ready for the size of it (I even measured it out ahead of time) but seeing it in person, I was like "wow". I like that you can set up the cage to your liking and that there is a nice sized pull out drawer (but the drawers latch that keeps it closed is a little small. But my ferret hasnt figured it out yet and I hope it stays that way). The ramps took some getting used to for my ferret. I had to supervise him for a day or two until he got the hang of all the different levels. He even still occasionally falls off down from the top level and plops onto the bottom but hes learning. One thing I dont really like is that the levels will snap into place but slightly slide around. They dont go far but I just worry that my ferret will pinch his feet one day. Also the door latches are great because its impossible for the buggers to escape. Over all this cage is great. Its spacious, unique, changable, easy to clean, and my ferret loves it.

We have had this cage for a few months now. When we got it some of the ledges were cracked or slightly broken. Not enough to be a big deal. It was easy to assemble and the doors are great because my two can't open them. However last night they figured out how to escape. Because the bottom tray slides if they push on it and the wires enough there is space for them to get out.

I just got my cage in the mail today. I was shocked at the size of it! Its huge! Me and my 11 year old cousin put it together in 30 minutes, would have been quicker if it wasnt for the fact that we put some of the parts on backwards. The directions could have been more helpful, the pictures it gave us for an example was horrible. but we got it together with just fine. My fuzzies love the cage, the were going up and down the ramps in no time once i showed them how to do it. There is so much space for them to run and play now i dont have to feel bad about putting them up after play time. I know that it says there are three doors, mine only has two in the front, there isnt one on top like it says, its no big deal to me, I dont mind only having two doors.

This Penthouse cage is great. We have 4 ferrets in it and there's plenty of room for more. The pull out litter tray is great. The last cage we used had the floors made out of bars like the rest of the cage. Problem was if the ferrets missed the litter pan they went through the bars which became increasingly hard to keep clean as time went on.
The cleanliness and smell of the whole room greatly improved with this cage. Highly recommended by us.

This is the 4th cage I have purchased over the last 3 years and by far the best one. It is better than even the competitions 249.00 cage. It is easier to clean, the bottom pulls out for fast cleaning. I have 4 ferrets so easy cleaning is a necessity. My ferrets are happier than I have seen them. They love to be able to interact with my cats and dog now. when I received my box 2 shelves were broken, and the wonderful people at Marshall sent me out new ones the next day no questions asked and 2 days later I received them.I couldn't be happier!
Only one caution, make sure there is something heavy to block the bottom tray from being able to be opened by the ferrets.

Easy to clean. There are only 2 feret cages out there with a pull out bottom, which makes for easy cleaning. THe two doors are great for feedign and taking the ferrets in and out. I do agree with the person who said the parts should be shipped seperately. The base was broken, along with both the black shelves. I called ferret.com and they sent replacements out within a week. We were even able to repair the base with super glue, so really we have that as an extra in case the other breaks. Great deal, best ferret cage I have seen out there. The shelves are easily put in to make different levels and platforms. Would recommend this for anyone with 1 ferret to 8 or maybe even more. I have 3 and it is plenty big enough

I recently purchased this cage for my daughter's pet rats.
We both love the cage. It has ample room for all 5 of her rats.
The bottom tray was not cracked or damaged upon delivery.
We measured, so we had an idea of how big the cage was.
The only problem with this cage for rats, is they can squeeze through the bottom of the bars.
This is smaller size fancy rats.
But, we managed to fix that problem by putting ties on one end, and 5 bars high.
Even though the had the one problem, I still wouldn't return the cage.
I am that pleased with it.
The rats seem to love it.
The hardest thing I found was not putting the cage together, but putting the shelves in.
The ramps which allow the rats to go to the next level (the black ones) I had to make the the spacing of the levels was just so.
I didn't find the levels that connect together really move enough to hurt the rats feet either.
All in all the price is great on this cage, and it is a very sturdy cage.
I just wish I had found this before I spent 100$ on a rat cage that didn't hold up at all.

I think that the price is great.The cage is very sturdy.Love that I can pull it out to vac around it.Versatility and size is outstanding.My little girl found out how to shove the bottom tray out as well (but if you can use a drill...2 holes and 2 zip ties can take care of that).She is also not sure footed on the ramps.She would rather climb.Her partner in crime seams to have no problem with the cage at all.But he does have about a pound over her.Great investment realy but be sure to look into a ramp for the exit and return.My big guy has learned to "hop" back into the cage due to the pee-pee drag.My little girl some times has to have a boost.I have a small business "ferret fun house" and use this cage to size out some of my bedding pcs.My ferrets and I do love this cage so much so that we are looking into the marshall chalet for a travel cage.

I have absolutely no complaints about this cage. My little guy's love this cage, it's big enough for way more than just my 2. I kept 4 in it for 2+ months, and there was room left over! The bottom wasnt cracked when I got it, and my ferrets don't slip and slide, even my geriatric fuzzie. The only thing is I have an itty bitty little girl, and she figured out how to slide the bottom tray out and escape (once!), but keeping a box in front of the cage for them to use as a step has fixed this problem! The best thing about this cage is re-arranging the levels every few months and then watching my little guys run around exploring their new home.

Cheaper then any other cage that I had looked at. It's HUGE! Very roomy and several different ways you can arrange the levels. Very sturdy, well made. Semi-easy to put together..was made a lot easier once I got some help. The only negative thing is that the doors are held shut with a long pin that makes it really easy for my little son to get into. I'm investing in some key locks to keep my son out of it. Delivery was extremely quick, chose the economy one to save money and it was here in 4 days! Couldn't ask for more! I love ferret.com!!

After researching different cages, I managed to get this one on sale. I'm very happy with it. It's sturdy and my escape artists can't escape it. My only complaint is that some parts of the wiring is difficult to keep clean, and the platforms are easily broken if you don't know how to properly latch them onto the cage. Once they are latched however, they are sturdy and safe. My ferrets' quality of life has gone up by multiples since buying this cage. I would definitely recommend it!

i love this cage for my ferrets
the only thing was when their nails scratch against the flooring its very annoying, especially when they are in your room, walking around at 2 in the morning
i went to Lowes and bought some carpeting, like outdoor type with rubber backing, cut it to the shape of the levels and put velcro on the back and the level floors
it worked amazing, if you dont mind taking a few hours and about $30 to do it!
it makes the cage look even better in my opinion!
now my ferrets have happy feet, they dont slide or make noise!
and mine wasnt cracked at all when i got it! the top bars were slightly bent, but can fix with your hands

This cage is ideal for any medium/large sized animal. The cage has ample room for your pet to grow over the years. The layout of the cage creates versatility when handeling your pet. With multiple doors and an easy to pull out bottom tray, this cage will stand out most compared to other cages on the market.
For your consideration : I do believe the platform trays that come with this unit are unsafe. They are made of plastic, great for washing and easily removable but they are not suited for ferrets.The platform trays/ramps should be lined with another material. I reccomend rubber. He was sliding back and forth on the platform trays because he could not grip what he was walking on.He had trouble adjusting to using the stairs as well.When he did start to move around he fell from the third floor. I had to stay with him for 48 hours non stop to ensure he was able to move from eating area/bathroom/sleeping area ok. He is getting more adjusted to new cage and i'm sure once i line the platform trays/ramps he will enjoy his new, safer cage even more.

I picked this cage after doing much research and reading multiple reviews on other cages. I kept coming back to this cage b/c of the features and it seemed EVERYONE was so happy with it!!!
My favorite feature was the huge deep pan which I can put tons of litter down. Many of the Ferret Nation cages did not have that which is why I went w/ this cage from Marshall's Mansion. I'm so glad I did!!! First, it was very easy to put together. My fiance and I put it together in about an hour. It required no tools with the exception of an allen wrench which they inclue. To figure out which way we wanted the shelves took a while after we got the cage together. One of the bars was built with a defect which we were able to figure out a way around it so the cage was still functional. So, it wasn't too big of a deal more so annoying then anything else. The cage is very sturdy and huge!!! Take into consideration just how big it is!! If our little girl didn't get all the excercise and attention every day that she does I'd feel guilty putting her in such a huge cage by herself. So, its truly meant for multiple ferrets. It seems the shelves are heavy duty as well which is nice because you will clip and un clip them about a million times before getting it just right. :) There are so many ways to re-arrange the shelves in this cage to make it perfect for you. It is SO easy to clean since the pan slides right out and can easily be hosed down. The shelves will be more complicated to clean, but I figured I will only need to give them a good washing once a month. To get the shelves in and out of the cage is easy too with the large two doors. Disinfecting wipes do the trick in between cleanings. I also find it nice at the top we keep extra litter, food, brush, toys, etc, It is such a sturdy cage it is fine to put some weight down on it from up top. Ferret.com was awesome!! They even called me personally to review my order and address. Once our order went thru we got it within TWO days!!! It was super fast and nothing came in damaged. The box was in good condition. So, all and all I believe you will not be disappointed in this cage.

Soo easy to put together and our two ferrets really love it. Our female is kind of small and we were worried about her sneaking through the wire, but she can't! Only thing wrong was that the box was gouged and a sleeve for the caster was missing so i have one leg propped up on books at the moment. Customer service is sending out a sleeve so i have no worries! The top completed level does not go all the way across and i read that some fuzzies fell so i was worried; i worked around this by having setting the opening up over the next level rather than a 3 foot drop (duh factor!). In only a few hours Max was running up and down like a pro; Mable is still a bit timid and not so fast, but that is just her personality. HIGHLY RECOMENDED! and btw: ITS HUGE!!!

for the price, this is a good cage, there are a few thing they could improve this:
1. instruction could be more infomative, i found myself taking the side twice for the unclear instruction. ( or its just my brain lol)
2.the top part of the cage would curve up too much and leave a 1" gap - i fix this by stacking books on top of the cage for a few weeks
the slide out pan in the bottom are very handy for clean up

i promiseeee , this cage is the best thing everrrrrrr. my base was NOT cracked unlike the 2837284 people that was so that was pretty cool . the ramps are easy to climb , its easy to clean the whole roof area is a door its amazing. i suggest you build it like on the box its the most spacious and easy to clean way. its big and wide BUT fits thru doors perfectly. if your like me that has been researching day in and out on google for the perfect cage this is it ! i mean the ferret nation is awesome too but the colors are dull and looks like jail. its super comfy and cute. i have to ferrets , bandit and july just love it ! thanks ferret.com (:

this cage is perfect for my 6 male pet ratties, they love the space & all the ramps to run up and down. the only problem i had was my boys could fit their head through & squeeze out, so i just covered it with some chicken wire (it took awhile but it was worth it!) it cost me about $30 to do. the cage was easy to assemble it took me and my boyfriend about an hour to do. it did not come to me broken like others have said, and every thing was perfect! i would reccomend this to anyone who is thinking about buying, GET THIS CAGE! ITS GREAT!

My ferrets love this cage. I'm not going to lie though, it took about an hour to put the cage part together with two people, my husband pinched the heck out of this finger too! The instructions are not very clear at all. There is a space between the slide out tray and the cage where if you have a sneaky ferret, they could push the tray out some and escape, but we fixed that by wedging something underneath the tray so it raised it up and closed the gap. I spent about two extra hours arranging the shelf and ladders, that was very time consuming because I wanted to get it just right so they could easily get up to the top and also have protection from falls since the cage is so tall. But having said all of that, don't be scared away from this product because after all the hard work putting it together, it's the best cage ever. It is awesome! It spacious, very sturdy, all clips are sturdy, tray is huge, I love this cage! I am so happy I got this one. Love it, Love it!!! I can't stop looking at it. I can see my ferrets play now, they look so much happier than they were in the small cage I had them in. You should really get this cage!!

Hey this was a great buy. Lots of room. It has a fair amount of plastic clip ramps and such which does not lend it to a long life. The bottom tub was broken on shipment. It is a hard plastic and does not take shipping well. They where great about sending a new just a phone call and bang new bottom tub. I have 2 carpet sharks and they like it alot. They can go into the tub area, aka the cave and hide when they want or sleep up top in the many hammocks that I have. The top opening makes cleaning easy, I am tall so for you shorter folks, hmmmm.
Super cleaning is tough. I like to take the whole thing outside and give it a good hose down from time to time. A little tough but holds up. Regular cleaning is ok but for tall folks lots of knee time.
Lots of room for multi poo boxes. Gave up on the corner thing and went with larger sqaure types. One in the "cave" area and the other up top. With two poo boxes option no problem so less mess.
Lots of wire space for adding stuff to keep the carpet sharks happy.
For the price and size it is as good a I have found. Going on one year and so far so good.

I bought this cage a year ago. When I got it, the tub for the bottom was cracked alittle on the side in shipping. Ferrets.com sent a new one right away, no questions asked and I did use the slightly cracked one till the new one came. This is a wonderful cage. And I had it all together by mysef within about an hour. Very well built and durable. My Topaz loves her cage and now I have a visiting ferret who I am watching while her family goes awy. She also loves the room. This is one of the best purchaces I ever made on line and this company is great. Buy from them often, they are great.

This cage was super easy to put together! Took me at most 30 min! It's also very easy to clean! I have a male and a female right now. It took them awhile to get adjusted to walking on plastic and how to use the plastic ramp. Sometimes they find it easier to jump from shelf to shelf. It has LOTS of room just for the two of them. I would recommend this cage to someone else. It's also cheaper than the ferret nation cage. I've had friends who have that. Either one are good buys

From beginning to end there were problems with this cage. The design is bad, dangerous for your pet, and an overall waste of space. The plastic floor segments were mis-measured leaving gaps in between the flooring for pet injury. The ramps or any of the play area did NOT prevent dangerous fall & injury to our ferret. Our little Lizzy injured her back leg slipping through a gap in the plastic flooring. :( Too, she fell from one of the top ramps to the very bottom of the cage. This cage LOOKED like a great deal for the money for our furry baby but it turned out to a nightmare. Even some of the cage parts were damaged from the factory and the bottom bin drawer is not secure enough to keep it closed to avoid pet escape. On a positive note, Ferret.com did not hesitate to exchange the item and was concerned about the health and well being of our pet. They promptly assisted us in picking out a more suitable cage. We chose the Critter Nation Single Unit with Stand 36Lx24Wx39H in it's place. Thank you Ferret.com.

My Chinchilla is not a plastic chewer so the cage is safe for him. He loves it, he is calmer because he has a lot of room to run. I would defiantly recommend this cage it was easy to put together and the plastic bottom was intact

I just purchased this cage last week and I love it. It has tons of space. and looks very nice. I did a lot of research on cages before I decided on this one. I knew I was probably in for some damages upon delivery,but one call to Marshall ferret company and they quickly replaced broken parts-no hassle and I didn't even need to return the damaged parts to get replacements. My ferrets love the extra space and seem to enjoy running up and down the ramps. This cage is easy to clean and assembly was done by my 13 and 15 year olds without much problem. The best for the money as well. I bought this to replace the feisty ferret cage and it is so much better, not to mention cost a lot less. I really like the fact that there are no wire bottoms to injure sensitive ferret feet. take your time and do your homework when buying a home for your ferrets but give this some serious consideration. Its worth it

I purchased this cage about a year ago. When it arrived the bottom pan had a little crack on it but i put some glue and then taped it and you cant even tell its been fixed. Its huge and theres plenty of room for my 2 fuzzy to play in it. There are plently of doors and the bottom pan slides right out for easy cleaning. Its almost as tall as me and having the wheels on the bottom makes it easy for moving the cage from room to room. for the price you cant beat it. I should also mention that the pan is very deep which is great because my ferrets liked to dig their litter out their litter pan and it remained contained in the bottom pan, so there was no mess on the floor to clean up. I would recomend this cage to everyone. Best cage i ever owned and the ferrets cant destroy it as they did the other cages i had.

I read the reviews and I ignored them. THE TUB WILL MOST LIKELY BE CRACKED!!! And not just a little crack, but a HUGE gaping hole. We decided to duct tape/glue the hole back together as best as we could. It is pretty nasty to look at, but after reading the reviews from those who had multiple returns, we decided that it wasn’t worth the hassle.
The bars are somewhat easy to bend, so we’ll see how that works out. Also, I wish the door was a “snap” kind of lock, but instead it is the “put the pin in place” lock. It’s okay, but it will be awkward for my kid to use.
Overall, the cage is HUGE and my babies loved the new size. I just wish that it was packaged better. Obviously there is a major problem if just about everyone is complaining. One thin sheet of very small bubble wrap is NOT going to keep it from getting damaged. Let’s see…54 pounds of metal resting on a curved piece of plastic, being tossed around by everyone at UPS, with only tiny bubble to help protect it…Yeah, it’s going to break. Seriously, BUY SOMETHING ELSE unless you want to spend two hours yelling at each other while working on the hardest puzzle of broken pieces you’ve ever seen.

I accidentally ordered this one (I was going to order a Feisty Ferret) but after my initial disappointment, I come to like it a lot. It's sleek looking and very sturdy. It's also VERY BIG! I'm adding more ferrets to my bushel so I'm excited to have this extra space. Can easily fit several hammocks and a couple litter boxes. I do suggest putting carpeting on the ramps or on the shelves so its a little easier for the fuzzies to pull themselves up!

This cage is great, it's seriously HUGE.
Positive: Easy to clean and tons of shelves to move.
Negatives: The big doors prevent you from attaching any shelves to the middle of the cage except where it's showed in the pic above. Also the base came cracked, so when I open it to clean it... it falls down off the track.
Overall through very good.

I love this cage. The only problem I had with it is that is came with the bottom craked. I didnt bother returning it since it took so long to get it I just put a blanket and the litter box over it (the crack is in the corner) so the ferrets can't get to it.

I don't know how good this cage is for Ferrets, but my 2 ratties love it. We knew it would be a big cage, but once assembled and my girls were in there, it's just so HUGE! Basically like another piece of furniture.
Besides that, all the pieces were fine-no cracks. However a couple of the hooks for the shelves don't snap onto the cage right, but not a BIG problem. I agree though, the box was horrible...mine was ripped to pieces and had to be taped up.
The bars are spaced apart a little too far, but they're okay. It went together easily too. I'd say for the money compared to others, you get what you pay for.

I got this cage, and the pan and one shelf was broke. After waiting 3 weeks to get my replacement pieces, the pan came broke again. I returned it (still waiting for my credit), and purchased a Ferret Nation Cage. This cage would be perfect because of its large size, and reasonable price but it will most likely arrive broke so be prepared for that. Marshall does not know how to pack their cages. This is my third cage from Marshalls, and they all came broke. Its very frustrating when the replacements come broke too. It just wasnt worth the time, and you will not get the shipping you paid on it back either. So you end up with no cage, and loosing money too.

I have 2 ferrets and the first night they were in the cage one of the ferrets was able to bend the bars and squeeze out. One of my dogs (which is never allowed near the ferrets) pick him up and shook him. This happened 1 week ago and he is still in the hospital trying to recover. If this cage was built sturdy this would have never happened!!! For a small ferret to be strong enough to actually bend a bar??? I am extremely upset with the makers of this cage and I think they should either take it off the market or make the bars much stronger! He could have died

My fiance and I just bought our first house, and we were really excited to finally have room for our little ferret "bear". I looked everywhere and couldn't find the right cage for a decent price. I looked on ferret.com and found this penthouse, I thought it was perfect... until I recieved it yesterday dumped onto my doorstep with holes rips, the box was pretty much falling apart. I thought that maybe maybe my cage wouldn't end up like some I have read on these stories. Think again, I opened it up and the base had a huge crack from the top all the way to the bottom. I thought that I could fix it b/c I really don't want to wait 7-10days for a new one, but my fiance said to call them back and get a new one. Overall the moral of my review is to just let people know that the quality of the cage was poor the price was reasonable and my poor little guy is still in his cage he came home in.. so I can't rate the pet approval. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend b/c honestly it was more hassle than it was worth. My ferret has to wait another week to explore his new home.. thanks for reading!

We love this cage and so does my fuzzy critter. It has lots of space and pretty easy assembly. When we received the cage the bottom had a crack along the top edge but still usable. It was replaced twice the second also had a crack along the top edge too. The third one arrived in one piece. The company didn't have any problem sending out replacement trays.

This is a great cage with loads of room for ferrets to play. Having 2 "little buddies" in this cage they seem happy. There is now room for them to have multiple means of entertainment. Finally a cage with enough room to efficiently place a litter box. One slight issue is that the bars to the cage can be easily bent if not careful on how you handle it. Ferret wise though, it is the greatest. Super easy to clean. Great bang for the buck!!

wow, this thing is huge! it's taller than me! ours came with a few manfacturing defects which we easily worked around, but about a month later everything is still excellent. our ferret doesn't know what to do with all this space.
i bought this particular cage for the price, the size, the casters, and the tub. litter training our little girl was a challenge, so i made sure to get a cage that i could easily clean up accidents in. no accidents yet!

I bought this penthouse about 4 months ago for my 5 ferrets. They love it and it is holding up well. Plenty of room for all their needs. I have 2 large litter pans (one on each floor) 2 feeding stations and it still gives them plenty of rooom to run and play as well as hang out in their favorite hammocks. The best thing, it's easy to clean. The only complaint I would have is the floor and ramps are a little slippery, which I fixed buy mounting carpeting to the floor with velcro, but other than that it is a great buy! A Great purchase if you have one or many fur kids :)

overall this is a very functional home. there is plenty of room for our two ferrets to explore and play. i had a single story home before this one and my ferrets would get bored and bite the bars and since i bought this cage the biting has pretty much stopped. i would definitely recommend that your ferrets be atleast partially litter trained before putting them in this cage simply because the top of the platforms are even with the wire bars and there can be quite a mess if your ferrets miss the box.....other than that, great cage tons of room easy to customize..buy it..now.

I finally got a cage that was in excellent condition. The picture does not do the cage justice on the size. I expected that the cage was going to be just a little bit bigger than the one I had, but this cage is about double the size. My chinchilla likes it. The only thing was that the shelving moved to leave gaps in between the shelves. I put electrical tape on the bars to keep the shelves from moving. Also, there is a 1" gap between the shelf and the bars for the full floor style in the middle of the cage that I am afraid he will hurt himself if he falls in there. Otherwise, it is an awesome cage. I am happy I bought it. Ferret.com's customer service is awesome at helping you with all your needs. I had to talk to them a couple of times when the cage came broken. They were very nice. I had also sent them feedback on how they could ship the cage better and they sent me an email within 24 hours and have been keeping in touch every step of the way for what they are doing to try to help the issue. Their great customer service will have me coming back to order from them again.

It would be nice to have this cage. I ordered my first one on September 10th. I am still waiting. I am on the third one now. The previous two the cage bottom was shattered to pieces. The third one arrives today October 14. I hope this one is not broken. They need to ship the base and cage bars in separate boxes. The cage bars are too heavy and fed ex throws the cage around and the bars break the base. I will never order a cage online again. Over a month to get a good cage. I want my money back if this one is broken.

I bought this cage a couple weeks ago for and my 2 ferrets felix and ocster they love it. It has lots of room for them to run around in and is very easy to clean. It also is made very well and is easy to put together I highly recommend this cage : )

When I ordered the cage I knew it would be bigger than the cage I had been using but I didn't realize how MUCH bigger!!! Its huge! My fiance and I put it together and couldn't believe it! When we put our boys in they went CRAZY! They loved it. I love the deep base that helps to keep my little diggers from flinging bedding everywhere. They have more than enough room to grow and play. I actually had to make more hammocks to fill it! I highly recommend that ANYONE with a couple of ferrets get this cage. The only issue I had was the base has a few chips on the rim but it wasn't anything that hindered setting it up. Get this cage, its the best money like this can buy!

I ordered this cage for my ferrets. I have 4 of them. They absolutely love the space and all of the shelves to climb up. My 3 month old girl loves to slide down the ramps like water slides. She lays on her belly like an otter and slides down. Also, I want to say that I had a bit of a problem of miscommunication, and ferret.com bent over backwards to help me. They went way above and beyond so that I could get the cage in the time I needed it. Awesome service!!!

Okay, so we ordered this while it was on backorder. Was a longer wait than we anticipated, but now that we've had it a week, I don't even remember all that. This cage is FANTASTIC. We've got 4 ferrets in ours and there's ample room for them all. So much space, so easy to clean. This is our third cage & the slide-out bottom plus the huge doors make for a breeze. The ONLY suggestion I have is to find a ladder or step for them to climb in & out with... the door stands 2 feet off the ground. Huge, easy to clean, great price, sturdy, a variety of shelving combinations, and well built... I couldn't ask for more.

The only way to describe this cage is AMAZING. It is sooo Huge our 2 babies could entertain 2 more guests comfortably! Simple enough to set up, my 3 kids plus 3 of their cousins (ages 3 to 10)and I were able to get it together in about 20 mins. The hardest part was trying to decide where to put all the shelves! You could change up the layout once a week and still be coming up w/ new configurations 3 yrs later! The pull out tray is wonderfully easy to clean, and the casters make it easy to move about. The only downside we ran into w/ this Penthouse,(its far more then just a cage!) was having to wait for it, having been on back-order for almost 2 mos. BUT, I can tell you if its on back-order when you contemplate purchasing it and you can hold out that long, it is DEFINATELY worth the wait!!! My Fuzzies, Family and I give it 2 thumbs up!

I couldn't believe how BIG this cage is! It is HUGE! Tons of room for toys, hammocks, and sleep sacks. My fuzzies, Daisy Mae and Duke, love it! They don't even know what to do there is so much room! I love the pull-out bottom and the coasters, makes it soooo easy for cleaning!!!!!! And the ramps are awesome, they are wide enough so my clumsy fuzzies won't fall, and they don't hurt their feet! It was easy to put together, just make sure you read directions all the way through first instead of just looking at the pictures, it took me a while until I actually sat down and READ the directions!!! Would recommend you don't buy any cage but this one!!!

This cage is nice, easy to assemble, large, but I don't like the bottom, it has a nice large plastic bottom drawer, but the cage has no bottom floor, so when time to clean it, you have to put the ferrets in a playpen or let them run the house.
And for the #3 door, I'm still looking for it haha!, unless it's the top of the house..
My ferrets hated it at first, but are slowly getting used to it, they are used to whole floors, instead of small shelfs, they were scared, and I too was worried they would fall and hurt themself, so I padded the drawer, and they love the drawer, they go to sleep in there new basement haha!
My cage was damaged in the shipping, and I'm waiting for the other, as it's in back order, but I'll probably build a bottom floor with a fold up ramp, so if I want to clean there basement they will be able to stay in the cage, or come walking down the ramp to freedom haha!..

Easy to put together. What took me the longest was arranging the shelves for my little guys. They love it. Have tons of space and lots of different level to explore. Love the fact there is no wire mesh for feet to get caught in. Highly recommend.

I found this cage very easy to assemble. The instructions were very simple and easy to follow. It only took me 30 minutes by myself. The cage is huge! I love it. The shelves pop in securely but aren't difficult to relocate.

When my son came home with a "free" ferret, we only had a large dog crate. I did (alot) of research and decided on this new home because of the good reviews. Everyone is very happy with it- - It went together easily, within 45 minutes--the longest part of the process was deciding where to put all of the levels. It is super-easy to clean, and the ferret can interact with our cats and dog. They were all able to get used to each other and now he roams the house at will. Hammock can hang from anywhere on the ceiling. Very sturdy - -he has spent some time looking for an "escape route" and hasn't found one yet. Highly recommended as a great value for the money.

I just got this cage and I already love it. The assembly could have been better, it took all day to put the cage together and then figure out how I wanted it arranged, but after everything was done it was worth it. My little guy is trying to get used to his new home, but I think he loves it too. The shelves are nice and sturdy as well as the bars of the cage. This is a perfect pick.

I recently ordered a ferret cage from another petstore and was deeply dissatisfied with the cage and it was highly expensive.
I went to this website and it was the best thing i could have done for my ferrets!
Based on everyone's reviews i ordered this cage. I LOVE IT AND SO DO MY FERRETS!
PROS:
-Super easy to put together
-No snaps to hold the cage together
-Very durable
-So much playroom
-the cost is cheap compared to other cages
-room to put a large litter box in
-the ramps are very sturdy
-love the wheels to move the cage around!

Easy to assemble BUT the directions are bad ^_^ I love that the shelves and ramps are textured. Sadly my ferret is too small to use the ramps so I won't know how well my pet approves of it for a while, but for now it is a great home for him and his future cage mate ^_^
+PLUS the wheels won't scratch your floors

I love this cage. My ferrets were so happy and played into the night. They love the space, lots of room for toys, sleeping hammocks, and play area. Very easy to clean. Easy to put together. Its also very easy to move around.

The best decicion I made for my two ferrets is to get them this cage. They love it. I love it. Easy to put together, easy to move, and easy to clean. The plasic bottoms are better for there feet, and the complete level on top is great because they cant fall all the way down. I would recommend to all.

This newer Marshall Ferret Penthouse is truly well designed and reasonably priced! I feel that your ferret’s home is one of the most critically important purchases you can make for their health and well-being as well as your own enjoyment. Please don’t make the mistake of purchasing a home that is too small or poorly designed for your loved ones especially if you are unable to take them out for several hours each day. After an exhaustive search and detailed comparisons both online and in stores, it was clearly the best non-custom home I could find for my fuzzies. The Penthouse has the following desirable features:
* Very spacious, safe, sturdy, practical, attractive and flexible design
* Deep (prevents mess outside of cage), easily accessed (easy to clean), solid plastic (non-corroding & easy on paws) slide-out base
* Flexible and adjustable multi-level design with plenty of platform shelves (floor space) and hanging space (can be creative and interesting)
* Multiple large and secure doors in front and on top for easy access
* Solid (not wire, therefore easy on paws) textured ramps that attach securely
* Rolling casters for easy moving
* Interesting curvy platform shelves
* Sturdy wire frame allowing good air circulation
* Easy to assemble
* Ideal height, length, width dimensions
* Large enough for a growing family of probably 4+ (I have 2)
* Reasonably priced, a good value (cheaper online, especially here)
Minor flaws:
* Poor assembly instructions though easily assembled (tip: read ahead)
* Front doors have long pin lock design making one-handed operation awkward for locking
* Platform shelves require some force to attach though are secure (careful)
* Additional platform shelves and ramps not yet available for additional purchase
* Product packaging and contents arrived with some damage though Marshall replaced items free of charge without requiring return
This is the third home I acquired for my two furballs in 1 1/2 years, and it is by far the best one. I wish it was available back then. You won’t be disappointed with this purchase! It frequently sold out but was worth the wait. Despite its minor flaws and compared with all other homes on the market, my ferrets and I happily give it “5 stars”. I highly recommend it.
(I strongly suggested several weeks ago that Ferret.com/Pets United begin carrying this excellent product. This site usually offers better pricing and shipping charges than their competitors.)
