Nice large area encourages use. I had just the corner units previously and the ferrets would sometimes go infront of them. This unit has a nice high back and large area they do not feel cramped into it. Highly recommended!!A+++

This tray is a great size and my ferret uses it with no problems. The only issue I have is the Lock-On device broke within a month of having it. I don't know exactly how it happened but my little guy must have felt like moving his furniture around. He had dragged it to a different spot.

This is a great litter pan. It is very sturdy and the lock stays in place. Ferrets like big enough litter boxes so they can back up into it.
This litter box is perfect.

Everything I buy on ferret.com always catches me by surprise on two things:
one- how much cheaper it is than pet stores
two- how much bigger it is than the pet stores or how it looks in the picture on the internet!!!
I bought the Hi-Back & it's almost too big! But it gets the job done, I just put it in his favorite corner and he uses it, so easier clean up for me than emptying the whole bottom of his cage out.

The lock on this pan broke the second day we had it. Plus our ferrets dig under it and push it up and down because the locking mechanism lets it swivel up and down. And as far as litter in a pan it doesn't work no matter what pan you have our ferrets just want to dig it out and scatter it all over the cage.

We have four fur kids and let me tell you I went though heck and back trying to litter train our oldest. I was using one of these pans and after talking to other ferret enthusiasts I learned a little secret. The ferrets need to feel secure and like to fit their whole bodies in the litter box. These fill up fast if your ferret(s) go as much as ours do,even on high quality food and its a pain if you have to miss scooping one day. One also didn't get it to poop in the higher backed side and made a big mess! I just went out and bought a large clear plastic storage container that is meant to fit under the bed and ta-da! No more litter box issues for the most part! Save your money unless you want a lot of these in the cage,or if you want to use it as back up outside the cage. For that purpose it works great!

My ferret quickly learned he could push it to the side a little and go to the side. At first he didn't like it too much, and my other ferret did, but my male ferret then got used to it. I think it should have 2 locks on it, one on the left top side and one on the right top side, or 3; left, right, and middle. Overall this litter pan was bigger than I expected but it is good and it fits well into my Marshall Townhouse cage. To comply with my ferret moving the litter pan to the side, I ducktape the top through the bars and to the cage, so its unmovable unless I take the tape off. Other than the one lock, this litter pan is great.

Contrary to what previous reviews said, the lock-on version is great. The lock never broke, and attaches on easily and firmly. It worked out great, i'd advice this to anyone. My little guy never misses the litter pan anymore :)

Forget about corner litter pans. Yes, ferrets do go in corner but they absolutely HATE corner litter boxes, especialy males ! They like to fit their whole body in it, so you will need a square high back litter pan. This one its great. We use it in our ferrets' travel cage. We bought 2 Marshall High Back Litter Boxes for our ferrets room ; they are the best !

I bought the lock-on litter pan. You just tighten the back into the cage like a screw. My ferret would always move the litter pan around and 'go' behind it. With this, he cant even move it out of place. Its sturdy. My ferret hasnt had an accident since I got this. Its so great. I recommend it to yu!

I love this litter pan. It's pretty big, so my fuzzies actually use it! They hated using the corner pans because they were so small, but with this one, I have very few messes outside of the pan to clean up. The only downfall is that the screw piece that attaches it to the side of the cage comes off, and my baby likes to try to squeeze herself between the cage and pan and is able to detach the pan from the side of the cage. This can lead to a mess in the corner because they are accustomed to that particular corner, litter pan or not. However, I will be buying another one for the bottom level of their cage where we still have the occasional mess.

I used to have two corner litter boxes in my babies cage, my female was fine and used them with no problem, my male on the other hand preferred to do his business in between the two litter boxes. This made cleaning the cage (which I do twice a day) a pain. As soon as I bought this litter pan and put it in the cage, my boy started using it! Only two or three accidents since then. It makes clean up time A LOT faster! I love this litter pan and would reccommend it to everyone with ferrets!!

This pan has high sides so it keeps the poo inside, unlike the corner pans where my fuzzies could lift their little bums over the side and...ick! What a mess! The litter does get out from the entrance and there is nothing to keep the pan in its place. Those are the only problems. The lack of a mechanism wasn't a biggie at first but it only took a few weeks before they figured out they could move it around. So, only thing I would change is adding a lock to keep it in place. I'll have hubby drill holes and tie wrap it into place.

Never get corner litter pans for ferrets! I promise if you are having trouble litter training your ferret, get a nice big square one like this and your problems will be solved! Drill some holes in the back to secure it with velcro ties so it can easily be removed. My ONLY issue is that I wish when you ordered this product you could pick the color you want, in order to match it to your cage bedding.

The description stated that it comes with a locking mechanism to secure to the cage but all I received was the litter pan itself. I had to drill holes to use strap locks to hold to cage so fuzzies dont oush around. Otherwise the product matched the description.

This is the perfect litter box, big enough for male ferrets (tey like to put their whole body in the litter box) but not too big to takes all your cage's room.

I bought 2 of these several weeks ago and I would purchase them again. The locking mechanism on 1 pan fell off within 10 minutes. I used a round metal clip(office supplies) to hold it to the cage now and it works just fine. The 2nd works perfectly. These pans clean up really easily. The high back is awesome! I used to have to clean up poo after cleaning the box because my crew tends to go out the sides of most pans now it is all contained.

Just a practice for ferret breaking and entering. The lock doesn't hold on to the litter pan for five minutes. I use it as a pool now.

litter training our ferret seemed IMPOSSIBLE until i bought this pan. the corner pans were no good, she just didn't seem to use them, or would go over them. i got it when i got her a bigger cage. she has ample room to go where ever (which i feared!), but she chooses to use her pan, thank goodness (filled with yesterday's news).
it's BIG but that's a good thing. i think she like having room to scoot in and do her business.
my wishlist for this item is to make it able to fasten to the sides of the cage!

I have one ferret and this litter box was much larger than I thought it would be. With the high sides all around I have trouble seeing over the edges to know when to clean it. Also- my ferret has no trouble pushing it all over his cage.

You never realize how important the deep litter boxes are until you've gotten one... this one box takes care of the needs of all 4 of our little ones and we've had only 1 accident outside of it in a week! No more scattered messes in the corners, no more litter box void of litter, no more messing over the edge. An absolute necessity for any ferret owner! -- SERIOUSLY.

This box should have a way of securing it to the cage. We had to drill 2 holes in the back and use a shoelace to tie it on, otherwise both ferrets would move it around or dump it. Other then that one issue, we love it. It gives them plenty of room to back up into, and they have a few corners to chose from. :)

The litterbox was way bigger that i imagined which is a good thing because it means more room for my ferret when he uses it. My ferret goes in it without a problem and still has lots of room. The only problem i had was that the locking system broke on one of the litterboxes (i order 2) when i attached it to the cage. I plan just drilling two holes in the top and using zip ties to attach it to the cage. All in all the think this litterbox is the best.

the box will not stay put using the locking system provided s I improvised and use twist ties through the holes ment for the locking mechanism. The ties come off easy for cleaning and stay in place despite all 4 ferrets efforts to move it.

This is the best litter box I've found. I had the corner litter boxes, but the sides are so low in the front that my little guy was always backing up and going over the side. I love the high sides on this one!

This a a very large litter box. Great if you have the space in your cage I have a Ferret Nation #142. I havent had any problems with him tipping the litter out and its plenty of room for him to do his business!

We own 3 fuzzies 2 males and a female and house them in a Ferret Nation 142 cage. Sookie, our large male used the green corner litter boxes perfectly fine. Missy, our young female used them too but LOVES to pull them off and push them around the cage too. Cooper, one of our males, refused to touch them and did his business in every other available corner. We tried switching litter and blocking off the other corners with no luck. Finally we installed this litter pan and he LOVES it! He NEVER misses any more and never messes outside this litter pan. All three of our fuzzies seem to prefer this pan to the others. Its roomier and secures MUCH better to the sides of the cage than the corner boxes. We HIGHLY recommend it!!

I find that the plastic piece to attach it to the cage, is not sturdy. I definitely does not stay on the cage well, therefore my ferret friends push it aside, and poo behind it instead. The plastc part is very flimsy...definitely not ferrett proof.

This is the perfect pan for my two ferrets. I have three of the corner pans and they would just go next to them. The size is kind of large but I think that is what my ferrets like about it. I do still have some misses but all in all this product works great. I was sent one without the clip I did not request a replacement from Ferrets. com because I was planing on removing it anyways. I am sure they would have sent me the clip. I just drilled four holes half way down two on each side. I then fed two zip ties through and tide it to my cage. They cannot move this at all and I just clip the two ties when cleaning is needed. this product is an A+ purchase.

My ferret kept breaking the plastic lock on piece off so I just ran some yarn through the holes and tied it to the side of the cage. This makes it easy to remove to clean but keeps it in place!! So overall its a great purchase

Everything is great about this box: the lock fits perfectly, ferrets immediately adapted to it, it keeps the litter inside even when ferrets try to dig it takes less space then a large corner one. But I wish it was a darker color.

I finally have a litter pan that works! I initially got it because of its low front and its large size. My ferrets will only use a litter pan that is large and has a small ledge to step over. However, the cage latching mechanism has turned out to be wonderful. For litter boxes not in use in a cage, the nut and bolt can be popped out of the pan. My ferrets have never managed to dislodge the pan in the cage though. I own four of these, and theyre great.

I like this litter pan because it's larger, so it's better for those that have more than one ferret housed together. I also like that it has the screw on thing to keep it in place in the cage. However, the little arm thingy that you use to lock it onto a cage, easily pops out of the pan (and easy to put back in - just push on the center of the pan, where the arm goes, from the inside of the box, then put the arm back in). My one ferret can be very tough on things and he pulled the arm out several times and the more he pulled it out, the easier it became to get it out. To solve the problem, I just used some duct tape to keep the arm in place and it's kept it there for about 4 months so far. It's a drawback, but an easy fix, and still an excellent litter box.

My ferret refused to use the litter box until I got him the lock-on litter pan. He has tried to move the litter pan, but isn't able to. He even uses the litter box on his own while out playing. He hasn't had hardly any accidents.

My ferrets turned this great concept of a lock on litter pan into a regular litter pan within 5 minutes of it being in the cage. They continued to push and pull on it until it detached from the locking arm and they could move it. Just wasn't very sturdy.

My ferret got one of these because he had the high corner litter pan and he could back up over the edge and go beside the litter box. This litter pan has fixed that problem. Though, it's big, so I had a little trouble getting it through the cage door.
