Got this kong in a set of bed and toys. He likes the kong and I hide his treats inside so once he has the treats he leaves it alone until I put more treats inside. He is not a heavy chewer.

I absolutely love Kong products, I have some of their toys for both my dog and cat and they are great. However, I was not happy with this product. One would think that with ferrets being notorious chewers this toy would be designed a little tougher than it is, but like many have already said it does not take long for the ends to be chewed off. My ferrets loved this thing, especially with some ferretone inside, but after only a week they had chewed off the end and I had to get rid of the toy for fear of them ingesting part of it.

I bought the smallest dog version Kong and the ferrets and dog both play with it. The only problem is the ferrets keep hiding their Kong as well as the dog's much larger one. It's great fun when we can find it! No chewing off pieces as some have mentioned.

I had this for my ferret but just as several others have noted, it does not hold up well, the small end was chewed in a matter of days so i threw it out as not to chance a possible ingestion of the plastic! I would not recommend this toy!

My little girl loves her Kong. We bought her the dog version at the pet store though, didn't know they made one for ferrets at the time.

My two guys Truffle and Enokie love this toy. It is great for them to chew on and when I stuff treats into it they go crazy. I did notice bits of plastic being chewed off at the smaller end but,I'm keeping an eye on it and it seems to be fine. The only other thing is this is the exact same chew toy made for small dogs with different packaging and they make a harder plastic version for small dogs so I may try that.

I purchased this for my two girls. They do like to hide it but, I noticed in the first day little bits of the rubber on top were bitten off. I took it away from them and havent given it back. Im way too nervous about them ingesting the material. I would repurchase if it were remade sturdier.

My dog, Shelby, was obsessed beyond belief with her Kong. So I was very excited to see there was a Kong made for ferrets. First I had just Flower and he paid zero attention to this toy. Then I introduced a kit named Koda into our home thinking this little, crazy chewer would go nuts over the Kong... no such luck. This toy just doesn't hold any zeal for my ferrets.

My personal opinion is that this isn't durable enough for a ferret that enjoys to chew a lot. Within about 2 days the small end was showing serious wear and was about to break off, so I cut it off and made it smooth again. It's also worth noting that I can cut it WITH SCISSORS...so it's about as durable as squishy cardboard.
With that said, it's also my fuzz's favorite toy, by far, he hides it everywhere.
So I would still recommend it, but watch your ferret with it very closely, and inspect it often.
I think a Kong Extreme for a Chihuahua sized dog might be a better investment.

My ferret loved it however it lasted 3 days and then half of it was missing already. Not as sturdy as I thought it would be

I have a chewer. No other way to put it. If it is rubber it is going under the sofa, every thing, shoes, crutches, she even tried to carry off a two pound "Smart Bell", she weighs 83 grams!! This Kong toy is one of the best investments I ever thought to make. She loves it. I am getting one for my new baby, since the older fuzzy won't share!

All my fuzzies love their kongs. They play with and hide them all the time. With or without a treat inside they are great.

My two big boys love Kongs and other rubber goodies so I'd definitely recommend if your fuzzies are chewers. However, my one lad wil really gnaw on the end and rips it off in tiny bits, so PLEASE USE CAUTION to make sure your ferrets aren't ingesting the toy. Try Kongs in other shapes (jack-shaped, kong bone, etc.) to reduce this risk. My ferrets are harder on kongs than my dog!

I have 4 fuzzy babies...but only 1 Kong King! My oldest boy will not let anyone (humans included) take his Kong. If it's moved out of HIS hidy spot...he will hunt it down and return it to the top of the FN 142 cage and hide it under the tent and guard it with his life!!! I have to get it on video and put it on FerretForum...it's such a hoot!!!! What a fave toy!

If your ferret is like my Carlton then this toy can be a problem. Carl can smell and find rubber a mile away. He was able to bite at the tip and tear off little bits of this toy. Kongs are made well but if you have a rubber maniac then this can be shredded too. The worry of course is ingesting the rubber. just isnt worth the risk for me.

Both of my girls like this toy but my smallest female has decide it's hers and anyone who touches it is reminded of that with a sharp hiss! I'm tempted to buy another but I can only imagine her trying to drag them both around at the same time. Great toy!

We have always purchased kong products for our dogs and they have loved them so we figured why not give it a try for our ferrets. Our female does not pay any attention to it, but our male loves it. Its his favorite toy and he is always playing with it. Over all it is an excellent toy and has lasted the hours of continual use.

My three little guys were dragging and hiding this toy all over the place on the first day. It usually takes a day or two for them to warm up to a toy. As everyone knows only the coolest toys are end up on the stolen, hidden, stolen, hidden cycle.

All of the ferrets that I've ever had love this toy. They like to carry this toy all over the house.
There is a small rim on the tip that you may want to keep an eye on. My ferrets chewed off that rim, but nothing big enough to cause any alarm. The toy is sturdy. We've had one for about 7 years and even after 6 ferrets' attempts, the ferrets haven't broken apart any other portions of it. A much safer outlet for when they go "chew-crazy."
